Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4043 is to be kept in a 3m x 3m x 3m room on a pedestal cushioned with a red pillow. The room is to me kept at -60°C, or roughly 213 Kelvin. The orb is to be removed from the pedestal at ████ and midnight, or it will vigorously shake until it cracks, oozing an unknown liquid.
SCP-4043 is kept 300 m underground at Site ██.
4043 is not to be touched by bear hands, due to the material it is made of making human flesh start to █████ and lead to total loss of motor function in said hands. When removing 4043 from the pedestal, latex gloves with a thickness of two (2) inches are to be worn, so the corrosion doesn’t seep through. SCP-4043’s Containment can only be accessed by Personnel with Level 2 Clearance or higher.
Containment Procedures [REVISION 1-2]: Upon SCP-4043’s Reclassification to Keter, it’s Containment needed updating. SCP-4043’s Containment can only be accessed and permitted by 2 or more of the 05 Personnel who will give those who wish to enter an Omni Card. 1 Member of the 05 Council must be present at all times. SCP-4043 now has a lock on it’s chamber door inside the observation cell, able to be accessed by Two personnel swiping keycards of the same level into two parallel slots at the same time, which will open the door for 10 seconds.
Description: SCP-4043 appears to be a small, red stained glass orb of unknown origin. By peering closely at the object, a small eye forms on the inside, as inverted color from the one who gazes into it. When 4043 makes direct skin contact, it begins to crack and ooze a purple liquid, burning and corroding the skin. Those afflicted are then considered contaminated and referred to as SCP-4043-2 and to be executed via lethal injection immediately.
4043 is suspected to have been made during the 15th century, somewhere in Europe. Due to its ooze healing any sickness if digested through the mouth, it is often used in creating liquid medicines. It seems to cure all injuries, medical and physical. Why it does so is unknown, considering contact to human skin outside of the mouth corrodes skin and kills skin cells.
It is suspected that if 4043 is to shatter, the corrosive material would rapidly increase in volume, making a large hazard. If it were to increase in volume quickly enough, it could potentially, although very unlikely cause an end of the world scenario. But that has no evidence to back it up.
SCP-4043 was discovered in a remote Pawn Shop in the United Kingdom on March ██, 20██. It was being sold by a long-fingered person in a dark cloak. The person said that it had been a family relic for over ███ years and gave Agent ████ the details on keeping it dormant, which have been modified and changed into its Containment Procedures.
Addendum 1:
On ██-██-20██, SCP-4043 was thrown at a wall by a D-Class at ██ km/h and was shattered completely. The D-Class was terminated and 4043 was put back onto its pedestal by order of 05 ████. The next morning, SCP-4043 was completely reformed with the only signs of damage being a single ████, along its ████. SCP-4043’s cell was covered in a purple, viscous liquid of unknown chemical makeup. Researcher’s ████ and ██████ are currently testing the liquid in Testing Room A, on Floor ██ in Site ██. SCP-4043’s Containment was cleaned and checked for damage. █ days later, SCP-4043 had a proposal taken to the 05 Council to have its Object Class changed to Keter. The proposal was denied by 05-█████, ████, and █████. SCP-4043 was Observed by Level 3 Researcher ████ and found nothing that could have it reclassified.

On ██, ██, 20██, there was a Site-wide Containment Breach, resulting in the sudden disappearing of SCP-███, SCP-███, and SCP-4043. SCP-4043 was recovered ██ days and its hue was a more aggressive red than usual. SCP-4043 was recovered by MTF █████-9 and █ person(s) were harmed during the recovery. SCP-4043’s Containment cell has been updated to include a camera for monitoring the day after the object was recovered. The camera is to be monitored at all times by at least one Level 2 Researcher.

Date: ██, ██, 20██. D-9733, now referred to as ‘Subject’, was told to enter SCP-4043’s Containment. After █ seconds of hesitation, SCP-4043 entered the Containment room. Subject was told to hold SCP-4043 in his palms. Subject does so, in a suspicious manner. Subjects hands begin to burn up from skin contact with SCP-4043. Subject is then told to crack SCP-4043 on the side of its concrete pedestal. The Subject does as told, and SCP-4043 begins to seep its viscous substance. Subject begins to violently █████ and █████ SCP-4043. On Site Guard shoots the Subject █ times in the ████. The Subject, while on the ground from his wounds, proceeds to lick the substance seeping from SCP-4043, while at the same time, the Subject’s hands are burning up from contact. The Subject’s wounds appear to be instantly healed and the Subject reports a ██████ feeling coursing through his entire body. SCP-4043’s cracks begin repairing themselves ██ minutes later. Subject stands up, visibly unharmed. Subject is forcibly taken back to his cell.

Date: ██, ██, 20██. SCP-███ entered SCP-4043’s chamber and stated: “It’s been so long since I’ve seen this object!” SCP-███ picks up 4043 and takes several vials of various chemicals out of his ████ and poured on onto SCP-4043. SCP-4043 emits a ████ aura in its entire Containment cell. SCP-███ chuckles: “How did you get locked up in here, my little friend?” ███ stares at SCP-4043 in his palms for several minutes. He places it in his coat and leaves the chamber, beginning a █ class Containment Breach. It took █ hours to lure SCP-███ back into containment.
Incident 4043-1:
Date: ██, ██, 201█.
SCP-4043’s containment cell was found empty at ██ am, and a Priority C Containment Breach was announced. SCP-4043 was found in SCP-049’s cell at █ pm. SCP-049 was nowhere to be found and the Breach was elevated to Priority B status. At roughly the same time, SCP-173, 106, and 096 all escaped containment due to a door malfunction. The Breach was elevated to Priority A and the entire site entered lockdown. MTF-Charlie 3 and Alpha 5 were contacted and had arrived at ██ pm. It took █ hours to re-secure the facility. SCP-4043’s containment was moved to the █th floor for closer observation and Researcher █████ filed for 049 and 4043 to be updated to Keter, for it is unknown why 049 took SCP-4043 to its cell. SCP-049 will not answer to questioning. The reclassification was denied by the majority of the 05 Council on the justification that the danger was not elevated with 049 and 4043 in the same place.
Incident 4043-2:

Facility Guard, Level █, was monitoring SCP-4043 via video camera, when suddenly the camera went dead. A Priority D Breach was called and 2 checkpoint gates were shut near 4043’s containment to make sure it couldn’t potentially escape. SCP-4043 was found in the mouth of an SCP-939 instance. Site personnel shot at SCP-939-██ until it ceased movement. That instance of SCP-939, in the Breach Report, was give the title: SCP-4043-939-1. SCP-4043 was given the Keter Classification on the grounds of it allegedly being able to control dangerous entities.
Incident 4043-3:
Date: ██, ██, 201█.
SCP-4043’s cell was found with corrosion on the doors at █ am. Upon investigation, it was found that SCP-106 had phased into SCP-4043’s containment. SCP-106’s containment was found to have to corrosion and to be in position, not explaining its ability to access 4043’s chamber. SCP-106 was found with SCP-4043 fused into its chest. Upon being shot at, the dubbed SCP-4043-106-1 shifted to its pocket dimension and and SCP-4043 was found on its pedestal █ minutes later and SCP-106 was back in containment as well.
Incident 4043-4:

Priority Level A Lockdown was in effect due to Site control from SCP-079. Upon reaching 079, SCP-4043 was found on top of 079. Despite lockdown, none of the main gates were locked, leading to ██ SCPs escaping Site-██ and needing ██ Mobile Task Force Units to re-secure them all. SCP-4043 was recontained and placed under 24 hour surveillance by a least 1 member of the 05 Council. SCP-4043 is currently under surveillance by 05 █████. No D-Class Personnel are to enter SCP-4043’s containment at any time for any reason whatsoever.
Incident 4043-5:
Date: 01, 01, 2019
SCP-4043 was found on a desk, 10 minutes after the New Year began. Also on the desk, were various party foods, including █████ brand chips. Dr. ██████, who had already had several glasses of whiskey, headed to the table to get another drink. He placed one of his hands directly onto SCP-4043, immediately making his flesh bubble and corrode. It is unknown how SCP-4043 got onto that desk at that time. Dr. ██████, needed to get his entire arm amputated so the effect didn’t spread. SCP-4043 was returned to Containment and Dr. ██████, is being kept in the West Hospital Wing.
