Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4XXX is to be contained inside of a 16 x 24 meter glass
box with steel lining the corners. SCP-4XXX itself is to be placed onto a podium.
Due to the events of Incident Report 4XXX-1, SCP-4XXX must be kept under 24-hour active surveillance.
Description: SCP-4XXX is a red, unlabeled hardcover book with no apparent exceptional
qualities. When SCP-4XXX is opened, it displays the phrase "I've played him now, the deed he did!"
All other pages of the book are blank. No anomalous effects take place until the subject falls
asleep. The subject's dreams will be normal, except at random moments their surroundings will be
distorted. The distortions vary depending on the subject's past. The most common distortions have
shown to be the following.
1. The subject's surroundings melt
2. Eyes growing on anyone appearing on the person's body in the subject's dream.
3. Loud sounds
4. Extra appendages growing on anyone appearing in the subject's dream.
These dreams have been documented to last from one week to one hundred fifty years.
When awake, the subject will wake up in a puddle of their own vomit. It is unknown how this
effect takes place.
Discovery: In a small bookstore located in [REDACTED] the shop keeper claimed that he purchased
SCP-4XXX with a a collection of other books by a seller in China. No one purchased the book in
time SCP-4XXX was confiscated.
Incident Report 4XXX-1: On March 14 20██. A D-Class intruded into SCP-4XXX's containment cell in an attempt to destroy it. The D-Class was restrained and taken to a therapist on Site-██.
Addendum: Testing on SCP-4XXX has been discontinued due to Incident Report 4XXX-1.
