The idea of SCP-001 is told by Dr. M. Delta.
Greetings to any form of entity, sentient or non-sentient, reading this. My name is Doctor M. Delta, or you may know me as "M. Delta." No matter what you knew me by, it doesn't matter anymore, along with your ideas of SCP's or the foundation, or what has been studied within it. SCP-001 is no different than the rest of them: it is an anomalous entity, idea, subject of a thing that we can not comprehend, so it is researched.
It's funny to me — you know — how a foundation this "big" will never be able to locate me, especially considering how much they try to understand the impossible. Who said the foundation and the members were clever? They do what they understand, and they can only attempt to toy with what they don't. They are no different than us, they are curious, and just like the subjects they use to "toy" with these creatures, they are human.
Do you get a sense of security from the foundation? Do you ever stop and think, "what does the foundation have to learn, and what is it used for?"
SCP-001 DOES exist, and without it there is no SCP, SCP foundation, or anything that is, or is not, within the realms of reality. SCP-001 can be physically contained, but no matter what you do to it it can not be stopped — it is an unstoppable force. So, what is SCP-001? Well, it's simple: it's our own dreams and our own imagination.
There is no fear if you know what to predict, and you don't know what to predict unless you have experienced an event before. You can only assume what lays outside of your understanding, but you may never know for sure. That is what the SCP foundation is. They build off your fears and toy with it, using real, living, breathing humans.
Although, you can physically contain our brain, our ideas are unstoppable, and these unstoppable ideas can give people power. The SCP foundation is just like the rest of us, and just like the people they use as a disposable tool for experimenting. The foundation is human, and the people inside are just curious. They are monkeys with tools and power. Without SCP-001, where are the ideas going to come from? The thoughts that researchers have, and the acts that get Class-D personnel in the position they are in? No one can explain everything about it. It's a machine that always pumps out some of the strangest and most inane of ideas, that can't even be explained by science.
The SCP foundation is not the only of its kind, take for example: The ████████ ████████ Organization. An organization the originated in ████, Germany and migrated into multiple locations throughout █████ America. I, M. Delta, have had my eye on this organization for some time, and good luck locating it. At least they don't [EXPUNGED] each other to find out the secrets of something as ridiculous as SCP-001.
