Special containment procedures: An area surrounding the entrance of SCP-4639 consisting of .75 square kilometres has been cordoned off with chain link fences topped with razor wire and converted into site ██. Due to the extremely remote and inhospitable location of SCP 4639, containment procedures are mainly directed at preventing instances of SCP 4639-1 from exiting SCP 4639, even if they have thus far showed little interest in doing so. entrance of SCP 4639 is to be monitored at all times and any instance of SCP 4639-1 which attempts to leave it is to be apprehended by armed guards and administered class B amnestics and promptly escorted back inside SCP 4639.
Description: SCP 4639 is a large underground cavern in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. Currently, the only known entrance and exit consists of a narrow tunnel approximately 1.5 kilometres long that leads to and from the surface. The size of the cavern is currently unknown but so far, Foundation personnel have mapped an area consisting of 300 square kilometres. The interior of SCP 4639 is considered anomalous in the fact that it seems to be a lot larger than should be physically possible, given it's location. In addition, time seems to decelerate on the inside of the cavern, with an hour on the outside being percieved as a day on the inside, and 15 days outside of the cavern being percieved as an entire year inside.
The interior of SCP 4639 has been observed to possess it's own weather system, even experiencing seasonal changes. An extremely large and bright light that seems to hover an estimated 600 kilometres off the ground serves as an analog to a sun. By what mechanism the energy that would be required to power such such a massive light source is produced is currently unknown. SCP 4639 is inhabited by a civilization of mostly non-anomalous humans who appear to be of European descent. The inhabitants of SCP 4639 have been dubbed SCP 4639-1.
Instances of SCP 4639-1 virtually all appear to be of Northern European descent and speak what appears to be a corrupted version of the German language. Interviews with instances of SCP 4639-1 has revealed that they refer to SCP 4639 as "Newswabenland." SCP 4639 instances live in a primitive tribal society with a technological level roughly analogous to the Iron Age. They have shown little-to-no knowledge of the outside world. Their religion appears to center around a figure known as "The Fyurer" who led them to Newswabenland after "the Großkrieg" destroyed their previous homeland.
incident 4639-001: A foundation survey team disguised as instances of SCP 4639-1, led by agent ██████ was on an expedition to map out region Alpha-33 of the cavern when the entire team were attacked and killed by actual SCP 4639-1 instances who possibly mistook them for members of a rival tribe. Site ██ administration has hereby authorized the use of deadly force against hostile instances of SCP 4639-1.
