Special Containment Procedures:
SCP 4107 is to be kept in a spherical room with an internal diameter of between 0.6-1.2 metres not exceeding these dimensions for any reason. The external thickness of the spherical room are to be no less than 30 cm and no more than 45 cm. The material of the walls is to be Titanium and NOT steel, for transportation practicality. The interior of the room is to be any substance that has a high percentage of light absorption. (Currently, the room SCP 4107 is kept in is lined with a multi layered anti-reflective material created at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York City. This substance is the preferred inner lining of 4107's chamber). There is to be no entrance to the containment chamber (hereafter referred to simply as the 'chamber') and under no circumstance, with the exception the transfer of 4107 to another chamber, which itself requires the approval of at least two O5 personnel, should any opening into the chamber be created. Under no conditions whatsoever should any light source be kept inside the chamber itself for any reason.
The chamber must be kept in the centre of a warehouse with at least 6 metres clearance from the walls and ceiling. Only windows at the very top of the warehouse walls are to be allowed as to ensure secrecy. The chamber is to be suspended at minimum one metre from the floor at all times by four steel struts that cradle the spherical chamber. LED flood lights are to form a 360 degree ring around the chamber two metres away from the chamber. A second ring of flood lights must be back to back with the first ring of lights facing outwards. The ceiling must also be covered in LED lights. To summarize, the entire warehouse must be completely illuminated at all times. Any shadows must be kept to an absolute minimum and must not be cast within a 4.5 metre radius of the chamber. There must be a minimum of three backup generators in addition to the main generator on site at all times.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should anyone make physical contact with 4107-1, 4107-2, or [DATA EXPUNGED].
The chamber is to be kept at least two hundred kilometres north of the Arctic Circle from April 1st to October 20th. From October 20th to April 1st the chamber is to be kept at least two hundred kilometres South of the Antarctic circle. Currently, the two locations used to store 4107 are ██ kilometres North of ████████, Nunavut, Canada during the Summer period, and ██ kilometres South West of █████ ███ Station, Antarctica.
Transportation of the chamber is to be commenced only during the middle of the day when the sun is at its highest in a fully illuminated Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft with no less than six
eight security personnel in the cargo area at all times pointing handheld floodlights at the chamber at all times to cover angles not covered by light sources installed in the aircraft's interior. During the trip, only four stops to refuel and change security personnel and pilots are to be made. 1: ███████, Quebec, Canada, 2: ██████, Puerto Rico, 3: ███ ████████████, Brazil, 4: ██████████, Argentina. When opening the back entrance of the aircraft must be completely illuminated by ground crews via floodlights. If the sun is not at its highest position upon arrival, the team inside the aircraft must wait until it is midday before commencing transportation to the warehouse. It imperative that 4107 is permitted to exit the chamber during transport, and especially not allowed to produce instances of 4107-1, 4107-2, or [DATA EXPUNGED].
4107 must be kept under guard of no less than two three teams of 12 trained security personnel with detailed knowledge on the nature of 4107 equipped at all times with high powered LED flash lights with three sets of extra batteries and at least one backup flashlight per member, rotating on 12 8 hour shifts. All personnel, with the exception of D-Class personnel, are to be equipped with a sidearm at all times as well as an LED flashlight. Teams should all be provided with protective eye ware to be worn at all times while on duty. An additional three teams of two, also operating on 8 hour shifts, must be present at the exterior of the warehouse to prevent any non-Foundation persons from entering the warehouse. Any approaching civilian is to be turned away immediately; lethal force is only authorized if the security team is physically threatened. If, somehow a civilian succeeds in entering the warehouse, they are to be detained immediately and given class A amnestics and transported to the outskirts of their place of residence if known and if practical. If any individual not part of the Foundation visits the site more than once after being turned away, they are to be detained and given Class-D amnestics with or without the approval of the onsite doctor. If the team is unable to transport the trespasser to their place of residence, they shall be transported to the nearest settlement. These teams are to equipped with fully automatic firearms that are standard equipment with either the United States Marine Corps or the Canadian Army, depending on location, while on duty. Most importantly, all personnel, with the exception of researchers and their respective staff, are to wear United States Marines Corps uniforms in tundra camouflage while south of the Antarctic Circle, or Canadian Army uniforms in Arctic camouflage while on the location North of the Arctic Circle, in addition to any clothing required to endure the low temperatures of these regions. While at the Canadian location, at least one security personnel must be fluent in French.
In the event of a power outage, all security personnel must immediately deploy their flashlights and point directly at the chamber and form a complete ring while the squad leader will radio the off-duty security personnel to restore power and/or position all vehicles in a ring around the warehouse with high-beams on. The off-duty personnel are not to enter the warehouse unless requested to do so via radio or lose contact with the personnel within the warehouse.
If an instance of 4107-1 manifests during a power outage or mechanical malfunction, two security personnel must draw their sidearms and alternate shots at the figure while the rest of the security team points their flashlights at the figure. If 4107-1 reacts with cognito-hazardous actions, two other security personnel must draw their sidearms and begin alternating shots at the figure while the affected individual must taken out of the warehouse immediately. Repeat as necessary until 4107-2 can be trapped or pinned using the LED flashlights or other light sources, or the power is restored. Always ensure that at least one member of the security team is firing on the figure during this period.
If an instance of 4107-2 manifests during a power outage or mechanical malfunction, security personnel must point their LED flashlights directly at the instance and use the beams of light to prevent the instance from leaving the warehouse.
There is to be absolutely no further testing beyond basic monitoring of 4107 by the research team, or anyone else without level 5 security clearance.

SCP 4107 itself is a mostly shapeless mass of pure blackness that can only appear two dimensionally on surfaces. It has been likened to a shadow by many.
4107 can and will phase through matter. This ability is nullified when subjected to light sources with high enough lumen ratings. 4107 will make every effort to avoid and escape any light shined upon it. This is extremely important when maintaining containment, as 4107 will not cross a sufficiently illuminated surface under any circumstances. The previous is not true of 4107-1, 4107-2, or [DATA EXPUNGED]. When exposed to light, 4107 will seek out, and remain in, the darkest area in its proximity. It is not know exactly how many lumens 4107 will tolerate, but it is know that a floor illuminated by a standard incandescent light bulb will halt its advance .
4107 by itself is not at all dangerous to humans and can even be touched. However, 4107-1, 4107-2 and [DATA EXPUNGED] have caused a total of ██ fatalities, as well as ██ injuries to Foundation personnel, both serious and minor. It is currently unknown if any form of 4107 is sapient, but it is suspected, based on varying behaviour, that the intelligence levels between the four three forms are quite different.
4107-1 takes the appearance of the silhouette of a small, female child. It is approximately 95 cm in height. This instance only known to manifest in very dark and large shadows. Unlike 4107 in its basic form, 4107-1 is three dimensional. 4107-1 is highly unpredictable, sometimes sitting down and remaining still, while other times moving towards security staff with an arm outstretched. If physical contact does occur, 4107-1's arm will phase in and out of physicality, while remaining visible at all times. It is suspected that 4107-1 has at least limited control over this anomaly. The results are usually harmful or fatal. This phasing in and out of physicality has been known to occur to all parts of 4107-1's form, as it did in incident 4107-A. Often the arm or other part of 4107-1's form will phase back into physicality while it is inside a member of the security team. This will result in all material from the victim to be 'pushed' away from whatever part of 4107-1 which is intruding on said person. The result can be a torso spontaneously exploding, or an arm being popped off at the shoulder, depending on where the intrusion exists. 4107-1 seems to have a much higher tolerance for light than 4107, 4107-2, or [DATA EXPUNGED]. The power of two or three LED flashlights may not be enough to completely deter it from advancing. One method that has been proven to be effective is sustained small arms fire from two different locations on 4107-1. While this in no way damages the manifestation, it does appear to be aware that it is being attacked, as it will focus its attention on the source of the gunfire. If two sources of gunfire are present, 4107-1 will begin moving towards one source of gunfire and attempt to make physical contact then quickly switch its movement towards the other source depending on which source has fired upon the figure more recently. One problem with this method is that 4107-1 may employ a cognito-hazardous anomaly upon one source of the gunfire. The victim will experience an acute headache and begin to lose their ability to see. The effect will persist for several minutes, and sometimes hours. Removing the subject from the vicinity of the manifestation is known to lessen the effect. Post-incident doctor's analyses show no damage to any part of the eyes or optic nerves, indicating that this effect is indeed a cognito-hazard and not a physical attack. It is important to note that this effect has never been observed to be employed on more than one individual at a time. This anomaly has only been observed on someone who is shooting at 4107-1. If 4107-1 is exposed to bright enough light, such as the flood lights used for containment, it will immediately seek the darkest place available: its chamber. 4107-1 will phase through the containment wall as soon as it can in these conditions.
4107-2 is less dangerous and more predictable than 4107-1, but harder to contain. 4107-2 is much more common than 4107-1, being able to appear in small shadows that might not be very dark. Like 4107-1, 4107-2 is three dimensional. The instance takes the form of the silhouette of a canine, resembling a wolf or a husky. The manifestation is approximately 45 cm in height and 85 cm in length. The behaviour of this instance nearly perfectly mirrors that of a canine except for the fact that it will go to any lengths to avoid any and all light. Upon manifestation, the instance will often attempt to leave the shadow from which it manifested, especially if the shadow is not very dark or large. If the instance encounters light, it will either move back to the shadow, or search the area for another dark place. 4107-2 shares the physicality shifting properties of 4107-1 and 4107, but will only display these anomalous properties on physical contact with a human, or when attempting to escape an illuminated area. 4107-2 is not considered cognito-hazardous.
On one particular instance at the containment site near ███ ███ Station on December ██, 20██, 4107-2 manifested after three floodlights were accidentally knocked over, creating a small shadow underneath the chamber. Security personnel employed their flashlights at the shadow, eliminating it. 4107-2 then appeared to panic, and ran towards the nearest wall, phasing through it. At that time of year however, ███ ███ Station is subject to perpetual sunlight. 4107-2 phased back through the wall it left through a few seconds after and ran straight for the containment chamber. 4107-2 successfully phased through the chamber's walls. Unfortunately, the manifestation ran into a member of the security team, ████████ ███████'s right leg. 4107-2 evidently reacted by flickering out of and back into physicality, completely destroying ████████ ███████'s right leg. It is unknown whether this effect was the intention, if 4107-2 is possible of having intent, of 4107-2. Ms. ███████ died of blood loss 7 minutes later.
4107-3 will [DATA EXPUNGED].
To date, SCP 4107 has never fully breached containment.
SCP 4107 was discovered in █████████, Nunavut, Canada, near a decrepit inukshuk (an Inuit stone structure of cultural importance) by a local whaler ███████ █████ on July █, 19██. 4107 was hiding under the fallen stone statue, avoiding sunlight as is typical. ███████ told his story to those in the town, and a Foundation field agent, █████ ████████, stationed in the local RCMP detachment, quickly informed their superiors. A full team of Foundation researchers, security personnel, and their accompanying staff arrived by plane a week later. It was later discovered by the team that during this one week period, there was no risk of 4107 moving due to the 24 hours of sunlight experienced in █████████ during Summer. Under the fallen inukshuk, the skeleton of a small girl, a canine roughly the size of a husky and the skeleton of an infant were discovered. Many experienced researches and agents have attributed this discovery to the appearances to 4107-1, 4107-2, and [DATA EXPUNGED] respectively. After a series of tests, it was eventually discovered how to control 4107 using light. During these tests, 4107-1 and 4107-2 surprisingly only occurred twice each as well as [DATA EXPUNGED] occurring once and resulted in no casualties.
Tests continued at containment sites until █████ █, ████. These tests provided no further information. Testing halted after incident 4107-A.
