Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a five (5) meter square containment cell, on a one (1) meter high pedestal, inside a clear perspex container. Interviews and experimentation with SCP-XXXX are to be heavily monitored by medical personnel. Access to the artifact must be approved by one person of Level Four (4) clearance or higher. Unauthorized access to SCP-XXXX will be met with termination.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a handle and guard of a feudal era katana dated to have been made to the just before the beginning of the feudal age of Japan. The handle appears to be made of pine, wrapped in red dyed leather, along with fittings made of gold. Those who pick up SCP-XXXX begin to hear a voice of a male, from Japanese origin, who reassures them that everything is fine, as the sword itself begins pulling Iron from the body of whoever holds it. The iron it takes is suspected to be from the holders diet, or even their hemoglobin.

The lack of Iron in the holders body acts slowly, as breathing gets harder, and muscle structure begins to seemingly melt away. The blood of someone severely effected by SCP-XXXX turns a sickly yellow color. Medical staff are to check for this every three minutes, and if diagnosed with a dangerously low amount of Iron, the holder will be transferred to the medical wing and will be left under their care.

Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX was discovered by Dr. ███████ ██████ in the remnants of an ancient battlefield in a Japanese hillside. A body in armor was discovered alongside it, but had no anomalous properties. There was no blade found that would fit the artifact at this site or any other existing locations.
