Item #: 4973:
Object Class: Euclid
Special containment procedures:
SCP-4973 is to be kept in a 5m x 5m x 5m block of hollow cement surrounded by sound-proof foam padding, three level 2 guards are to be stationed at the entrance to the containment unit at all times. Audio and visual monitoring are to be kept at a minimum (30 minutes to one hour a day), and is to be checked for sonic damage every five days, requests to enter the containment unit are to be immediately denied, only D-class and research personnel are to be allowed for research purposes only.
Description:
SCP-4973 is the smallest in a set of Matryoshka dolls, approximately 2cm in height, the face is painted to seem as if it were singing, and has the words “pronzitel’nyy zvuk” on its back (meaning “piercing sound” in Russian). If an object comes within 4 metres of SCP-4973, it will emit a shrill sound, and will continue this sound for differing periods of time, the shortest recorded was three minutes and the longest being three whole days. If the victim tries to escape then SCP-4973 will rise off the ground and glide towards the victim so as to continue what we believe as a feeding process, if the victim gets out of the four metre radius before SCP-4973 can reach them, SCP-4973 will cease emitting the sound and will fall to the ground motionless.
At this current moment twelve tests have been conducted, in which five D-class and two researchers have died. On the
█/█/19█, reports of peoples heads literally exploding because of unknown high-pitched frequencies originating from the house of a deceased woman by the name of [DATA EXPUNGED]. These reports came to the attention of █████ on █/█/█ whilst he was filing paperwork on scp-████, and he decided to send in Task Force Elipson-6 (“Village Idiots”) to investigate. Upon arrival at the origin of the frequencies, several men collapsed on entry as the sound had begun, they clawed at there ears screaming “TURN IT OFF, TURN IT OFF”, and when one man successfully ripped his ears off ten of twelve men managed to escape SCP-4973, but as they were looking back they could only see the equipment of their comrades, SCP-4973 lying peacefully between the mass of military equipment. On their return to Site-16 they were put through physical and psychological analysis, as well as medical treatment. Three weeks later they were again dispatched, this time with sound proof earmuffs with comm units installed, and contained SCP-4973 without incident. The first experiment was a failure, and resulted in both the deaths of three D-class and two researchers and a full scale containment breach, resulting in the deaths of over 215 on-site personnel. If SCP-4973 is to breach containment, shut down the current corridor it is in and shut down the power to that corridor. After five to ten minutes SCP-4973 should potentially calm down and cease further attempts of breaches for approximately ten hours. To retrieve SCP-4973 in such a case, subwoofers are recommended to be used to drain the sound of SCP-4973 out when in class proximity and trap it in a level 3 gun locker (as there has been no attempts to make a device to contain it in case of a breach) and lock it back in its containment unit.
