Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5878 is to be kept in a 5x5x5 meter cube with reasonable lighting. The floor and walls must be covered with a soft carpet (preferably red). The carpets must be washed by personnel on an annual basis. While the carpets are being cleaned, SCP-5878 is to be transferred to its second containment unit, a 4x4x4 cube with similar lighting. The carpet is not required for this temporary location. SCP-5878 will leave his cell and follow personnel instructions without arguing, as he has expressed gratitude for our actions regarding his cell's care. Both of these locations are to be kept classified for the foreseeable future.
SCP-5878 must be fed up to three pounds of fresh vegetables and fish on a monthly basis. Class D personnel are instructed to place the vegetables and fish on two separate plates and place them in its cell.
Three armed guards are to keep watch on SCP-5878 at all times. Attempts to communicate with SCP-5878 are allowed unless SCP-5878 tells them otherwise. SCP-5878 may be found unconscious for many days. This is because they are in a resting state. Attempts to wake SCP-5878 are strictly prohibited.
Description: SCP-5878 is a large bipedal entity with slick purple skin. There are various blue indentations on the surface of SCP-5878's skin, though the purpose of these is still unknown. SCP-5878 stands at three meters tall and is surprisingly light, only weighing about 100 pounds. SCP-5878 has a large transparent dome-like head and no arms. SCP-5878 has a face with a beak like snout. SCP-5878's jaw appears to be one bone with several needle-like teeth protruding from the jaw. SCP-5878 has dark black eyes and two small ear holes on the sides of its head. SCP-5878's legs measure to be approximately 1.5 meters long with claw-like hands each featuring three index finger like appendages and an opposable thumb.
SCP-5878 has many strange abilities. The first is its ability to become completely transparent. SCP-5878 also possesses the ability to see through solid objects. When doing so SCP-5878's eyes turn from their usual black tone to a misty green. SCP-5878 has shown signs of the ability to read/see the minds and thoughts of humans, as well as other sentient beings. SCP-5878 appears to be very intelligent and has understood all of the languages we have spoken to it in. Though SCP-5878's vocal cords are not able to articulate language, SCP-5878 is capable of communicating through telepathic means.
However, by far the strangest of SCP-5878's abilities is its ability to take control of the minds of creatures. When tested with many mammals, reptiles, fish, and humans, SCP-5878 has been able to temporarily control all of them. People who were tested (and will now be referred to as SCP-5878-1) reported no memory of their actions when under the control of SCP-5878. After the fact, SCP-5878-1 stated a minor headache after control for at least five minutes. SCP-5878-1 had no symptoms when under control for less than five minutes. When SCP-5878-1 had been under the control of SCP-5878 for more than 10 minutes, SCP-5878-1 reported an extreme migraine and a slight loss of memory from before the incident. When taken over for a period over 30 minutes SCP-5878-1's brain will begin to "overheat". If under control for 35 minutes SCP-5878-1's brain will be completely liquified. Though the intentions of SCP-5878 are still unknown, we do believe that SCP-5878 is trustworthy, but still close watch over SCP-5878 is required incase of a change in actions on behalf of SCP-5878.
