Item #: SCP-5732
Object Class: Euclid (indicate which class)
Special Containment Procedures: Scp-5732 is to be contained in 1m x 1m x 1m air tight steel cube at site-34. The steel cube is to be dispensed in the middle of a 3m x 3m x 3m concrete cell with the help of steel wires. The inside of the steel cube, as well as the concrete walls is to be lined with a layer of lead, 30 mm thick. Staff may never enter the cell outside of testing or maintenance of the steel cube or the walls. A team consisting of two (2) level 1 researchers are to check the steel cube and the walls for eventual radiation damages every other week. No staff are allowed to enter for more than a total of twenty (20) minutes each week. All staff entering the cell is to wear a level 3 anti-radiation full body suit. Under absolutely no circumstances should scp-5732 be activated for more than 1 minute at a time, and this should only be during tests.

Description: Scp-5732 appears to be a normal microwave by the brand Siemens, produced in 2017. However, it emits high doses of micro-, x-ray- and gamma radiation and is able to make the immediate area sterile in approximately 200 hours. Lead shielding is effective against this radiation, hence the choice of containment. When activated, the microwave's temperature rises beyond what is pre-set and rises exponensially. In theory, scp-5732 should reach the core temperature of the sun in circa 3 hours The microwave itself appears to not take any damage from any of these effects.
