Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an enclosure similar to where it was captured that is roughly 5 kilometers in area. It is to be fed twice a week, having a live deer or goat released into the enclosure. You must be a level 3 staff or have permission from said staff to access any of SCP-XXXX’s enclosures

Description: SCP-XXXX is a group of pseudo-humanoid entities found around central and northern America. Locals have who have heard or seen the entities have referred to them as "forest guardians" and treat them with the same doubtfulness that comes with mythical creatures. Although they differ, they share the same tall but humanoid structure, scythe-like blades made of bone in place of hands, and two jet black holes on its face (one larger where the eyes, forehead, and nose would be, and a smaller one closer to the chin). The ones that lived closer towards the north tended to have fur, while the ones in the south had a slightly translucent pink skin. Some have mutated to have gills, claws right above the scythe-like appendages, and some have seemed to mutate their brain making them much more technologically advanced than the others.

There are more of these entities, but they have not yet been contained

Each of the entities have been observed to create a diverse assortment of dens. The entities with the claw mutation tend to make underground burrows, ones with the gill mutation tend to make their den underwater, and ones with the brain mutation tend to make a den resembling a cabin made by human hands. All of these include tree trunks, large branches, and roots in their construction.

How it eats is unknown, as both holes end without any opening to a throat or any other similar orifice. These holes are used, however, when it subdues a test subject. The entity will put the larger hole just above the eyes and hold it there for around five seconds. After the five seconds are over, the entity will remove the hole from the person’s head revealing several small puncture wounds around the rim of where the hole was and a black viscous substance that has yet to be identified. The black substance flows down to the neck of the test subject, leaving only the eyes exposed. The entity will then look directly into the eyes of the test subject and proceed to drag the test subject to its den. At this point the test subject disappears, and all recovery missions have come back unsuccessful.

Although they do defend their territory aggressively, they tend to just chase off their victims rather than outright kill them. The scythes have been observed to be used primarily to clear brush to make it easier to move through. If broken, the scythe-like hands grow back overnight.

+ Addendum

Addendum-1: After a test with an MTF team present, we were able to recover a subject before SCP-XXXX-1 could drag them off. After careful examination, the black substance was discovered to have the properties of a non-Newtonian substance and left heavy stains anywhere it touched. There has been three members of staff sent into a catatonic state due to skin contact to the substance. Any further testing with the substance is to be treated with extreme care and not have any skin exposed while in proximity to it.

Note: SCP-XXXX-1 has healed completely just as fast as observed before and has not seemed inhibited in any way.

Addendum-2: After further testing, the entity seems to secrete the black substance constantly, and has been seen using it through cameras installed in their dens. The entity has been observed pouring an amount of the liquid onto the floor and then proceeding to crawl through the substance, and appearing somewhere else in the containment cell. The liquid disappears shortly afterwards, seemingly sucking in through itself. After SCP-XXXX-1 has gone through this process, the disfigurement has completely disappeared from its leg. More testing with the substance was done, and it will clean up itself and any previous stains left by the substance. After the stains were cleaned, the three staff members that were sent into catatonic state have made a full recovery and have returned to work as normal.

Addendum-3: After test A-5/13/██, a camera was placed in the inter-dimensional space belonging to SCP-XXXX-1. It has been observed to enter in through the wall, fall to the ground, and the black substance then moves the body into a pile with the rest. The entity is then seen back in its holding cell not long after. This process has only been observed to happen from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Any injuries that were sustained beforehand are lost.

Test A - 5/13/██

Subject: D-████
Procedure: Sent D-████ through the substance with proper protection and a camera under the protective clothes
Results: The camera recorded a large opening covered in the black substance with hundreds of SCP-XXXX-1 coated in a thin layer of it. None of the instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have been observed to move, so they are presumed to be dead or shed bodies. The subject reported the black substance was crawling up their legs, so the test ended prematurely.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX-1 seems to leave dead bodies in this inter-dimensional space.
