Special Containment Procedures: The area around SCP-6798 is to remain closed to vehicles that may be driving in the area of the object. No motor vehicles should be allowed within two kilometers of SCP-6798, and any traffic should be directed to a different route. Any researchers studying the object should stand at least 2 meters (6 feet) away from it. Under no circumstances should any planes or helicopters be allowed within 2 kilometers of the object, foundation or otherwise.
Description: SCP-6798 is a traffic cone found on a road in [REDACTED] County Ohio. The object stands a meter in height and has orange and white reflective tape in a ring pattern. Any person in a motor vehicle that comes within two kilometers of SCP-6798 have been reported to promptly change direction and head towards a condemned construction site located [REDACTED] kilometers north of the object. All subjects who have fallen under the influence of SCP-6798 have disregarded state driving laws, and in some cases cause damage to other persons and/or property. The object appears to only affect motor vehicles, both on the ground and in the air. Users of bicycles and other manually powered vehicles are not affected by the object. Any persons attempting to enter the condemned site should be taken into Foundation custody for psychological testing. Upon successfully entering the condemned construction site under the influence of SCP-6798, subjects have become aware of their location, then spontaneously fallen into a comatose state. Any persons that come closer than 2 meters (6 feet) to the object will likewise, fall into a comatose state. All attempts to wake comatose patients have been ineffective.The condemned site does not have any effect on persons not under the influence of SCP-6798, and when placed on the premises of the condemned construction site, D-class personnel experienced no ill effects.
Incident 6798-1: On June [REDACTED], 2016, a commercial airliner flew over the area of SCP-6798. After entering the 2 kilometer radius of the object, the plane suddenly changed its roll and pitch, adjusting course in the direction of the construction site. Foundation attack helicopters were dispatched to stop the plane from reaching the construction site. Corpses of 68 passengers, pilot, and co-pilot, were identified in the wreckage, safely removed, and cremated.
Incident 6798-2: On March [REDACTED] a large group of motorcycles drove within the 2 kilometer radius of the object. All riders except for one promptly changed direction for the construction site. All subjects were prevented from entering the site, and were taken under foundation custody. The remaining rider was given class B amnestics and placed in his place of residence on [REDACTED].
Incident 6798-3: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Addendum: Incident 6798-3 resulted in the deaths of [EXPUNGED]. Any ground vehicles or aircraft will not be allowed within 7 kilometers of the object. Anyone who comes within 7 kilometers of the object is to be terminated on sight. This change was ordered by overseer of site [REDACTED] as a result of Incident 6798-3.
