Description:
Found in an abandoned underground test site in [Data Expunged] on 4/7/███ Commonly found with SCP-999. More commonly known as SCP-999-2. SCP-4087 has a similar composition of the slime that composes SCP-999. Almost pitch black, with the only distinguishable features being two large, pale eyes. Has a curious depressive odor, that causes the serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in your brain to be unbalanced, according to Dr.[Data Expunged].. Corrosive components on most, if not all, materials. No known skeletal structure, even though has traces of spinal fluids, which gives reason to believe SCP-4087, is a vertebrate creature. All attempts to “see” inside SCP-4087, has resulted in the loss of hands. Known to abduct personnel at random times, and keeps them in its “stomach” for extended periods of time. Personnel recovered from SCP-4087, have been found in a chrysalis state that last for average of 16 hours before [Data Expunged]. After this phase, the personnel then emerge from the chrysalis with torn muscles, broken bones, and 3rd degree burns. No known deaths yet (see incident SCP-4087-B). Personnel that have recovered from injuries afflicted by SCP-4087, have major depression, anxiety, and in varying amounts, bipolar behaviors. The victims recovered from SCP-4087 have been known to attempt suicide. According to Dr.[Data Expunged], all personnel that have attempted suicide have all said the following phrase, in the same way each time “I have no reason to live. That… That thing took my very soul”. Personnel that come in contact with SCP-4087, without “abduction”, suffer from temporary depressive thoughts, and depending on the length of exposure, suicidal thoughts. Some personnel require months of therapy to return to their former personality. Effects of only contact with SCP-4087 vary from 24 hour to 78 hour periods, as mentioned before, sometimes even months, depending on duration of exposure. SCP-4087 seems to get larger every time it “abducts” personnel. As of 7/29/███, it has gained almost 47lbs.
Incident SCP-4087-B:
2 D-Class personnel were sent to do experiments on SCP-4087. They were getting closer, wearing titanium(only substance that seems to be resistant to SCP-4087’s corrosive components)
