Special Containment Procedures: MTF Mu-4 ("Debuggers") are to regularly monitor online gaming sites such as Steam. Once an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is found the account is to be taken down immediately and all individuals attached to the account are to checked for SCP-XXXX infection
Any subject that is confirmed to be infected by SCP-XXXX are to be held in a standard humanoid containment cell. Once the subject reaches Stage Five (5) of SCP-XXXX infection, the tone 532hz and 232hz are to played consistently over the speakers. If subject survives Stage Five (5) they are to be given Class A amnestics before being released
Description: SCP-XXXX is a memetic virus that is spread by use of the internet, typically appearing on popular gaming sites. SCP-XXXX spreads by using SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-1 is an anomalous entity that takes an online account, typically an account on a gaming platform such as Steam. SCP-XXXX-1 will impersonate that previous owner of the account and seems to possess some of the memories of the previous owner. SCP-XXXX-1 will only take an account if:
- The account is on a social media or gaming website.
- The account has at least four friends attached to it.
- The account has been inactive for five months.
- The accounts owner was infected by SCP-XXXX.
- The accounts owner has been deceased for at least one year.
Once SCP-XXXX-1 has taken an account SCP-XXXX-1 will message one of the friends attached to the account, the message sent will be an offer to play an online video game. If the subject denies SCP-XXXX-1 will message the subject again five (5) minutes. If the subject accepts SCP-XXXX-1 will give subject an invitation to the game.
Subjects who play with SCP-XXXX-1 report them sounding identical to the person who originally owned the account and having similar mannerisms. After ten (10) minutes SCP-XXXX-1 will abruptly leave the game. The subject will then be infected with SCP-XXXX.
