SCP-XXXX as described by D-class.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 45 x 45 x 55 foot spherical pyramid made from steel as well as gridded, square reinforcements made from titanium plates. A second identical pyramid horizontally inverted is also suspended atop the first by iron and steel girders, forming an hourglass shape. Both pyramids are contained within a 140 foot tall1 geodesic dome made of ballistic, one-way glass that has been designated 'The Cupola'. SCP-XXXX is to be contained in the bottom pyramid, at the center, atop an identical, albeit smaller, pyramid made of plutonium. The presence of plutonium seems to stabilize SCP-XXXX. Although it is not known why, it is postulated it has something to do with it's radioactivity and instability.

SCP-XXXX's containment room is to be kept at a constant 0° degrees Celsius. Low temperatures seem to dampen both the frequency and potency of SCP-XXXX's pulses. SCP-XXXX's containment cell must have at least 12 security personnel and 6 senior researchers present at all time. Additionally, one MTF team must be ready for deployment at all times. In the case of one of SCP-XXXX's pulses reaching Stage VI, all personnel are to be evacuated immediately and an MTF team dispatched. The temperature should then be lowered to 150 nanokelvin and the onsite nuclear warhead contained within the secondary pyramid should be armed and prepared for detonation. If SCP-XXXX reaches Stage VII, then the onsite warhead is to be detonated.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a seemingly incorporeal, constantly vibrating mass of non-Euclidean shapes structured in a roughly spherical form. The exact shapes that appear in SCP-XXXX, as well as the colors, differ with observations, but the shapes always seem to be non-Euclidean in nature. Researchers also describe SCP-XXXX as kaleidoscopic. SCP-XXXX has been theorized to be existing in multiple dimensions at once and has the ability to spatially distort an area around it. The exact measurements of SCP-XXXX's area of distortion are unknown, but appear to be exceedingly large. SCP-XXXX distorts the area by sending unknown energy pulses of differentiating magnitude to the area around it. SCP-XXXX's pulses are measured in stages, ranging from Stage I to Stage VII.

  • Stage I: SCP-XXXX's pulses are docile, garnering little to no reaction from on-site researchers. Effects may include slight internet malfunctions.
  • Stage II: SCP-XXXX's pulses are mild, creating a small field of distortion around SCP-XXXX. This will most likely appear as if the ground has gained curvature or suddenly has rough edges. A small hue change is also common in observers.
  • Stage III: SCP-XXXX's pulses are moderate, creating a larger field of distortion, roughly the size of it's containment cell. Observers will most likely have a major hue change and will experience slight headaches. Electrical fluctuations are also common in this stage and should not be cause for concern. In this stage, the most likely effect of SCP-XXXX is that the walls will appear as though they are oscillating, much like a vertical wave. Observers will begin to feel SCP-XXXX's pulses' shockwaves. Researchers have reported that it feels like a weak gust of wind.
  • Stage IV: SCP-XXXX's pulses are more aggressive and should be treated with the utmost caution. It's effects will most likely be a drastic color change and a field of distortion that either encases the facility or just beyond it. This would most likely make rigid shapes appear spherical and turn minor Euclidean shapes non-Euclidean. SCP-XXXX's shockwave will be felt as a strong gust of wind and will cause moderate electrical fluctuations.
  • Stage V: SCP-XXXX's pulses are now severe and the temperature should be lowered drastically. SCP-XXXX's pulses' shockwaves will be equivalent to wind gusts felt in category 3 hurricanes. SCP-XXXX's field of distortion now extends beyond that of The Cupola and the top priority should be that of re-containing SCP-XXXX. The effects on observers will be that of moderate kaleidoscopic vision and debilitating headaches. Observers might also experience nosebleeds and burst capillaries. SCP-XXXX's effect on it's environment will be that of Stage IV, but on a much wider scale.
  • Stage VI: SCP-XXXX's pulses are now catastrophic and containment procedures should be followed. SCP-XXXX's pulses' shockwaves will be equivalent to that of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima 6 miles away. Observers that are too close to SCP-XXXX will experience extreme kaleidoscopic vision, severe migraines, hallucinations, burst blood vessels and cardiac arrest. The effects of SCP-XXXX's pulses will now go from transforming Euclidean shapes to non-Euclidean to reconstructing it's entire area of distortion in ways that contradict the laws of physics. It has been theorized that SCP-XXXX is reconstructing its environment in ways that should only be possible in other dimensions.
  • Stage VII: SCP-XXXX has now expanded beyond the Foundations control. Multiple thermonuclear bombs are to be detonated on the outskirts of SCP-XXXX's field of distortion, in hopes of reducing it's field of distortion and re-containing it. If SCP-XXXX is not re-contained, its effects will invariably result in a CK-Class Restructuring scenario.
