Item #: SCP-6900

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6900 is contained at Site-19 in a sealed metal room, measuring 8 ft x 8 ft x 8 ft with 2 ft thick solid lead walls and door. Experimentation requests are to be filed through personnel with Level-5 clearance for O5 approval.

Description: SCP-6900 is an old Sentinel TV Television Model 420B made in 1951. The wood paneling fluctuates between five known colors after each anomalous viewing event. Currently, the paneling is a dark walnut color. So far, the TV has been observed to exhibit its anomalous properties only five times, and color changes may be possible beyond the observed five. Testing has been limited to two experiments with D-class personnel. Due to difficulty in finding SCP-6900 after it instantaneously repositions itself at random flea markets, antique stores, and junkyards within 100 miles of the last viewing event and death of the viewer, all testing has been forbidden by the Ethics Committee without O5 approval.

The anomaly presents itself when a viewer turns the TV on, classified as SCP-6900-1. Once on and observed, the SCP-6900-1 sees a series of events displayed on screen lasting 10 minutes and detailing their death. At the 8 minute 32 second mark of a viewing incident, what appears to be a nude humanoid figure is seen in the background. It does not appear to directly interact with subjects displayed on the screen of SCP-6900. The figure is described as vaguely feminine, with no eyes, mouth, hair, or facial features. The humanoid seems to breathe, but has no evidence of orifices with which air can pass through.

No matter what course of action the viewer takes after viewing the scenes presented during a viewing incident in attempts to avoid the fatal chain of evens witnessed, the viewer will always choose a path that results in their death exactly 9 minutes and 3 seconds after the transmission ends.

After a subject expires in the precise manner displayed on SCP-6900 , SCP-6900 immediate disappears from the location of the last viewing incident and reappears at a random flea market, antique store, or junkyard within 100 mile radius of the viewing incident. It is not known if SCP-6900 is sentient. Attempts to utilize GPS beacon location trackers on SCP-6900 to quickly locate it after a viewing incident have failed. Recovered GPS units have been found with completely drained power cells, even when recovered shortly after a viewing incident. Due to difficulty of quickly locating SCP-6900 after a viewing incident, all further tests on human subjects must be approved by the O5 Council. As part of the testing approval process, all flea markets, antique stores, and junkyards within a 100 mile radius must be identified and observed by MTF-[REDATCTED] prior to, during, and after testing SCP-6900 with human subjects for rapidly locating and securing the TV. Due to the potential of SCP-6900 falling into the hands of an antique consumer and an undocumented viewing and teleporting incident occurring out o Foundation control, recovery after testing is of the highest priority. Class-A amnestics must be used on a store or junk yard owner and consumer during recovery operations.

Addendum: SCP-6900 was confirmed to have been in the office of Dr. Vincent Anderson at his abandoned laboratory on Graham Island, British Columbia, Canada. A recovered inventory log at Dr. Anderson's laboratory listed the TV by serial number. The TV was recovered in 1999 at a garage sale in Vancouver by Foundation personnel after it was reported the screen would turn on with no power source near by. The viewing incidents leading to the death of the viewer and immediate teleportation of the TV require a viewer to actively turn the TV on. Random power-ups of the TV do not seem to cause a fatal event in a casual observer. It is believed that the nude humanoid is SCP-4760-B. Testing requests to confirm the identity of the humanoid are pending with the Ethics Committee and O5 Council.
