Special Containment Procedures: A standard containment locker is sufficient to contain SCP-XXXX. This locker must be either 13km underground or be in a site that is a no fly zone (currently site 34). So long as SCP-XXXX is left alone its anomalous properties do not manifest. However, due to its relatively harmless affects the object may be signed out for testing by any level 3 personnel or higher at any time, so long as the standard object sign out form is filled and filed beforehand with at least 3 days notice.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard Benchmade 63 butterfly knife in appearance. SCP-XXXX manifests its anomalous properties when the blade makes accidental contact with the user in a way that would cut them. When this occurs the portion of the blade that is within the users body will teleport approximately 12km directly up and stay in that position relative to the rest of the knife.
Acquisition: SCP-XXXX was acquired by special agent Anderson who at the time was undercover in the Metropolitan Police in Glasgow, Scotland. It was discovered that there was a member of the GOI "Are We Cool Yet?" was living in the city and was promptly raided by STF team Gamma 13 "Burnt Turkey". In the raid various class A drugs, firearm parts and hazardous chemicals were recovered in addition to SCP-XXXX and the POI.
Interview Logs: The following interview is with the POI captured in the raid.
Interview date: 23/05/18
Special Agent Anderson: "Could you please state your name for the record?"
POI: "I wanna' chat to my lawyer."
Spacial Agent Anderson: "I will let you know now that we are not the police, I will say again please state your name for the record."
POI: "'m not tellin' you shite."
Special Agent Anderson: "We know that you work with the group that calls itself Are We Cool Yet? and I assume we know full well who we are, you can drop the act."
POI: "Nae I don't have a fucking clue who you are. You raided my shite, what do you want from me?"
Special Agent Anderson: "Your name to start off with."
POI: "I told you I'm no giving you my name"
Special Agent Anderson: "Okay then, we only really want to know where you got or how you made the anomalous object we found in your residence."
POI: "The fuck's anomalous mean?"
Special Agent Anderson: "It means strange, unnatural, paranormal. That kind of thing"
POI: "Oh the spooky as shit knife. It was given to me by me mates down south, they're the ones who told me 'bout that Are We Cool Yet? lot. Though they were a bit naff at first 'till they showed me the knife, shit's bonkers."
Special Agent Anderson: "Do you know where we could find these friends of yours?"
POI: "No, they said that if I ran some drugs for them for a bit they'd hook me up with some real cool shit and let me join them and that, they'd gimmie a call. They gave me a cut o' the cash from the drugs too, that helped convince me."
Special Agent Anderson: "You seem very cooperative. How do I know you're not lying to me."
POI: "That lot happened of couple years ago. Fuckers still haven't called me. Whole lot of them can get fucked for all I care. I just want to go home."
Special Agent Anderson: "You can go home soon I assure you, thank you for your cooperation."
The POI is administered amnesics and turned into the Metropolitan Police.
Test Log: The Following tests were conducted using D-14301 due to his clumsy nature and overseen by Dr Rose
Test 1: Function check
D-14301 is instructed to pick up SCP-XXXX and play around with it. D-13031 did so until he dropped it and tried to catch SCP-XXXX. He caught SCP-XXXX point first and it went straight through his hand and stopped at the handle then bounced to the floor.
Test 2: Function check 2
D14301 is told cut a piece of paper with a knife. He does this with no anomalous occurrence.
Test 3: Dead animal test
D14301 is instructed to repeat test 1 above a piece of meat. When D14301 drops SCP-XXXX onto the meat it cuts as normal.
Test 3: Live animal test
D14301 is instructed to repeat test 1 over a live rat. When D14301 drops SCP-XXXX it cuts into the rat as normal. This test proves that SCP-XXXX is only not harmful to the current user.
Test 4: Negligence
D14301 is instructed to repeat test 1 holding the knife above himself. He complies after some objections. SCP-XXXX goes through D14301 but does not cut him, showing that if used irresponsibly SCP-XXXX with still activate its anomalous properties.
A plane later went down nearby to the testing facility. The engine faults began directly over the site. In the plane wreckage there was a long thin gash the entire length of the plane. As SCP-XXXX was the only object being tested that day it was hypothesized that it was somehow involved.
Tests 5-7: These tests failed to produce any useful data.
Test 8: Teleportation theory
D14301 is instructed to repeat test 4 but leave the knife as is when he drops it. He complies and any floating material is searched for using a mid air sonar system. A small blade is found floating 12km in air with the same blade shape and colour as SCP-XXXX. D14301 is then instructed to take SCP-XXXX out of himself. upon doing so the mid air blade disappears, proving the two are linked.
