Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5068-1 is to be contained in a steel 30 cm by 30 cm soundproof container. The container is to be locked, welded to a steel table which is to be nailed to the floor. The table is inside a 2 m by 2 m soundproof room, with no less than 10 identical copies to the container and table inside. Only level 5 staff are to know SCP-5068-1's true container, and this information is to be given out at their discretion. The door to the room is composed of steel that has a depth of 1 foot. It is to be locked shut at all times, by both mechanical and physical locking mechanisms. The inside of the room is to be observed by no less than 2 cameras at all times, with no audio to be recorded ever. Anyone attempting to access this room without the correct clearance, given by no less than three level 4 personnel, is to be regarded as hostile and terminated. SCP-5068-2.1 is to be secured on a separate site to SCP-5068-1, and will be regularly given the normal human requirements, except it's diet is to be only composed of bread to prevent aggravation. SCP-5068-2.1 is to be kept in a 2 m by 3 m soundproof containment unit with a bed and toilet. Any persons trying to enter the containment unit of SCP-5068-2.1 without the correct permissions will be terminated.(redacted see incident 5068.3). Any instance of SCP-5068-2, other than SCP-5068-2.1 as he will be used for further research purposes(redacted, see incident 5068.3), is to be immediately terminated by specialist staff, who are then to be taken in for psychological evaluation before they can come in to contact with any other people.
Description: SCP-5068 is the collective term used to describe both SCP-5068-1 and SCP-5068-2.X. SCP-5068-1 is a conch. The conch has a spiral pattern of a thin dark red color and a thick light pink color. It is approximately 25 cm long, and at its biggest, 15 cm thick, and is incapable of receiving damage.
Upon listening to the conch, subjects will hear a calming sound of nature. Most commonly, the noise is either the ocean, rain or light wind, and deviation from this has been rarely observed. After first hearing the noise, the subject will report feeling calmed, however after 10 seconds, the subject will report feeling drowsy. After 20 seconds, the subject will close their eyes and cease breathing. Their eyes will remain shut for 10 seconds, until they open their eyes again and begin normal breathing patterns. The subject is henceforth to be known as SCP-5068-2.X.
All instances of SCP-5068-2.X experience higher than average intelligence, and extreme aggression towards human life. SCP-5068-2 is a hive mind, that insists on its identity as being the Earth. It prefers to be addressed as 'Terra', and has an overwhelming sense of protection over SCP-5068-1. SCP-5068-2 retains minimal memories of it's previous hosts, only keeping the ones it deems important for its greater goal of 'eradicating Humanity'. Instances of SCP-5068-2.X have the ability to replicate the noise emitted by SCP-5068-1, however observations have proved this to be a defense mechanism, or when replication is deemed necessary by the hive mind.
