Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-5902 is to be contained in a small glass box held within cell block 14 in Site-52 and requires level 2 or higher security clearance to enter. SCP-5902-1 is advised to not be consumed by any personnel outside of testing in order to prevent repeating the events of incident 023.
Description:
SCP-5902 is a pack of Extra brand spearmint chewing gum. SCP-5902 contains 15 sticks of SCP-5902-1. SCP-5902-1 are chemically and visually identical to Extra brand spearmint chewing gum. When an instance of SCP-5902-1 is chewed, the flavor will increase in intensity after each chew. After chewing SCP-5902-1 for 10 minutes, the flavor is so great, the chewer will experience Ageusia and loose any sensation in their mouth. while chewing SCP-5902-1, a dosage of approximately 3 grams of caffeine every minute. Lethality rates vary, though most personnel suffer extreme tremors and muscular fatigue as-well as migraine and paranoia before entering a state of coma and later death.

Procedure:
D-41512 was placed in containment chamber and instructed to place and instance of SCP-5902-1 into their mouth. D-41512 was then told to chew SCP-5902-1 until further notice. Approximately 5 minute into testing, D-41512 was visibly irritated and began to gag. D-41512 was instructed to continue chewing. after 10 minutes into testing, D-41512 stated the flavor has dissipated almost instantly. D-41512 was visibly shaking and was pacing from either end of the containment chamber. A medium cooked sirloin steak was placed in the cell on the table. D-41512 was instructed to consume the dish. D-41512 was confused as to why the dish had no flavor. Approximately 15 minutes into testing, D-41512 entered a state of extreme paranoia and began to ramble gibberish. 20 minutes into testing D-41512 collapsed and was later pronounced dead from heart failure.
Results:
SCP-5902-1 produced an increasingly strong flavor to the point of such intensity, the taste buds in the subjects mouth where rendered useless. Reasons are unknown.
