SCP-8910 is a large machine located in South Africa, in a uranium mine near the Angola border. It constantly emits radiation in excess of 4,000,000 sieverts/hour, however this radiation is contained within a small area, unlike normal radio hazards. It took more than 6 separate readings, using low, mid, high, ultra high, and specialized dosimeters to get this reading. The D-class personnel sent in to take these readings died within hours of exposure, their skin quite literally liquefying as their organs shut down. The construction of the casing of the machine is of an anomalous material, unusually dense and highly insulative. The machine is also heavily damaged, with much of it's top section open. Catwalks on top of the machine are torn and rent, suggesting a large explosion occurred in the past.
Samples from local geological strata show a massive amount of ash, suggesting that the event devastated the region. However core samples taken from the 120 foot level show a layer of ash which extends over 20 feet down. This suggests a global cataclysm hundreds of thousands of years in the past. Other sections of the mine contain fragments of highly advanced technological constructions, which would take humanity thousands of years to rival in their complexity.
These fragments show evidence of robotic technology on a near atomic level, with examination by tunneling electron microscope showing large amounts of fully autonomous drones. These drones are currently inactive, seeming to be missing a power source.

Results: Failure to power drone
** Analysis: Drones were exposed to light of various wavelengths, radio frequencies, and energy from a large wireless power transmitter utilizing electromagnetic induction. The drones failed to react in every case, showing no sign of motion or any reaction at all. It is likely that the drones either require an amount of energy which the Foundation technology, or any existing technology is capable of producing. It is equally likely that these drones are somehow linked to SCP-8910 **
Containment efforts were rushed by a border dispute between South Africa and Angola over new oil reserves discovered in the area, with militia and paramilitary groups openly attacking foundation security, these undoubtedly being contracted by the two respective governments suggesting that they have an interest in SCP-8910, perhaps thinking it some sort of highly advanced weapon. No word from the O5 council on any actions the Foundation will take toward both governments as a result of this have yet been heard.
The first containment attempt entailed excavating the full extent of the machine, and extracting it via specialized crane. While this may seem like a blunt approach, all attempts to disassemble SCP-8910 for transport have so far been futile
