Special Containment Procedures:
Given SCP-5001 ability to enter its own dimension at will and can use it to transfer anywhere around Europe there is no permanent SCP holding facility for this entity.
When SCP-5001 is spotted one level 4 scientists will be alerted and undercover MTF units will be deployed around the surrounding towns in order to make sure SCP-5001 does not strike again. All MTF personal after engaging SCP-5001 must report back to base for physic evaluation.
Description: SCP-5001 commonly known as "The Boogie Man" is an entity commonly seen about 2 meters in height enveloped around a shadowy mass of unknown gases, though when the entity is attacked it will use the surrounding gas and turn it into a black obsidian colored armor as well as create sharp claws and spikes on the entirety of the body. Since the entity has the ability to affect the mind of any individual who comes in contact with it and is enveloped in gases it is hard to get any further description of the entity.
SCP-5001 will commonly hide around children's bedrooms in the middle of nights though occasionally it will target adults while emitting odd high pitched noises. The precise reason for these noises is unknown but it is speculated that it is used to trigger cortisol in the brain. SCP-5001 will then feed off the fear, life, and ████ of the victim. How it does this is unknown. To see more about how it feeds and what it does once fed see addendum 5001.3.
SCP-5001, when finished with a victim, SCP-5001 will emit low pitched noise and create a black hole absorbing all light in the room for about 2 seconds and then disappearing. From an analysis of its transportation, it can be inferred that it transports to what seems to be its own pocket dimension though in the process of this retreat it leaves behind some of the gas residues that surround it.
Addendum 5001.1: SCP-5001 was first reported in ████ at the small town of Winston, UK where SCP-5001 attacked a small boy by the name of █████ █████████. The report from a Scotlandyard official who investigated the scene said that the child was found on his bed dead with his pupils dilated severely with the entire body completely white pale.
Addendum 5001.2: On ████ ██ MTF Mu-13 arrived in the town of Jever, Netherland where Cpt Nathanial, Cpl Adams, Pvt Willford, and Pvt Evan proceeded to enter into a family of 4's household. There they made their way up into the younger sister's bedroom where they found SCP-5001 Standing in the corner behind a large cabinet, with the younger sister hiding under her bedsheets on her bed. There Cpt Nathanial told the entity to raise both hands in the air. At that moment SCP-5001 emitted the high pitch noise, causing 2 members of the team to be disoriented and another to run out of the room. Cpt Nathanial and the 2 disoriented men opened fire doing no visible damage to SCP-5001. After having to reload SCP-5001 quickly began turning the surrounding gas into armor and claws. Once SCP-5001 finished generating these claws it ran toward Cpl Adam stabbing him through the heart. Cpt Nathanial and the remaining survivors of Mu-13 retreated out of the house where they called in for the use of C4. The head of Site 54 allowed the use of C4 in which caused the front part of the house to erupt in smoke and flames. A minute later SCP-5001 was seen walking away from the rubble with no visible damage. Before Mu-13 could fire SCP-500 emitted a low pitch noise in which SCP-5001 entered its pocket dimension.
The following is the after-action report and interview of Pvt Willford
Interviewer: Dr. Thomas Pacth, Site-54
Interviewed: Pvt Willford Brown
Foreword: The room is bright with a small mirror on one side of the room and a table with two chairs on opposite ends of it. One chair is occupied by a soldier wearing a blue-gray patch on his left arm with the writing Mu-13 with obvious paranoia and sweat on his face. A man in a clean white lab coat and clipboard enters the room. He sits on the other side of the table and takes a look at the soldier for a long second.

Dr.Pacth: Hello, my name is Dr. Thomas Pacth. I'm here to ask you a few simple questions about the incident on ████, ██.
Pvt Willford: O-okay.
Dr. Pacth: Your name is Willford Brown, a private in task force Mu-13 also know as "Ghostbusters", correct?
Pvt Willford: Yes.
Dr. Pacth: You and your team were dispatched to the town of Jever, Netherland, correct?
Pvt Willford: Yes.
Dr.Pacth: This is when you and your team entered the house and saw the entity.
Pvt Willford: Y-yes.
Dr.Pacth: Can you please describe this entity to us.
Pvt Willford: I-I don't know… is it here with us.
Dr.Pacth: When you say it are you referring to the entity.
Interjection: Pvt Willford continues to stare intensely at Dr. Pacth
Dr.Pacth: I can assure you that the entity is not here with us. Now may you please describe to us the entity that your team encountered.
Pvt Willford: Th-that thing is worse than anything imaginable it can't be described. It's-it's always watching… it's always watching.
Dr.Pacth: Mr. Brown I can assure you that the entity you encountered is not here. Now I will only ask this one more time, please describe the entity you encountered.
Interjection: Pvt Willford quickly looks around the room and leans over the table toward Dr. Pacth
Pvt Willford: Its dark, its always watching even behind its black curtain. The sounds… all the s-sounds. Its always watching us.
Interjection: Dr. Pacth sighs and calls for two guards to escort Pvt Willford out of the room.
Dr.Pacth: I'm afraid that's all we're getting out of him today.

Closing Statement: On the following day Dr. Pacth assigned all members of Mu-13 for psychiatric review. When a guard came to retrieve Pvt Willford from his quarters he was found dead hung on the ceiling with his own bedsheets.
Addendum 5001.3:
On ████, ██ SCP-5001 was spotted in Scalea, Italy. Due to SCP-5001's memetic and cognito hazards, MTF eta-10 was dispatched. The five members of the team were Sgt Conner, Ltcpl Alek, Pvt Jasper, Pvt Doug, and Pvt Matteo. Upon entering the house and making their way to the bedroom SCP-5001 was seen standing over a dead child by the name of ███████ ████. Sgt Conner and the rest of eta-10 opened fire. Upon opening fire SCP-5001 used the surrounding gas to create claws and armor though video analysis reveals SCP-5001 armor plating and height to be considerably thicker then what is seen in addendum 5001.2. Once finished generating these armaments it proceeded to lunge at the group knocking Pvt Jasper and Ltcpl Alek to the group. It then proceeded to jab at Sgt Conner giving him a large 5 inch cut on his left arm. SCP-5001 then proceeded to turn to stab Ltcpl Alek. Ltcpl Alek in defense pulled out his stun baton and hit SCP-5001 in the lower abdomen. SCP-5001 then stumbled backward into a nightstand and then retreats into its pocket dimension by producing a low sounding noise.
Addendum 5001.4: After the incident on ████ ██ more testing on the gas leftovers of SCP-5001 was ordered by 05-8. Testing revealed that the gas surrounding SCP-5001 while not able to determine its composition did find out that it is highly conductive allowing even a small amount of electricity to flow through the gas.
