Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of the anomaly, SCP-AHIG must be contained on-site. Containment is focused on keeping SCP-AHIG inaccessible and unknown to the general public.

No unauthorized individual is allowed to come into close proximity to the anomaly. A perimeter consisting of armed guards and roadblocks one (1) km from SCP-AHIG has been created and must be maintained. Any individual that is knowledgeable about, has come into contact with or plans to explore SCP-AHIG may be administered Class C amnestics. Satellite imagery of SCP-AHIG must be doctored to make SCP-AHIG appear unremarkable and unimpressive.

Description: SCP-AHIG is a hill in a forest in the Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. A flat asphalt road curves around the hill in a semicircle, following a shallow river that separates the road from SCP-AHIG. Although the surroundings of the road consist mostly of deciduous forest, SCP-AHIG has little to no vegetation. This and the fact that the road curves widely around the hill results in a clear view of SCP-AHIG's surface.

It is currently unclear what events, be it anomalous or non-anomalous, take place on SCP-AHIG. Eyewitnesses of SCP-AHIG have given widely varying accounts, and have on all occasions fled the area shortly after observation of SCP-AHIG. The following information is consistent between accounts, and has been confirmed by MTF-Theta-16 ("Alive Eyes"):

SCP-AHIG's surface contains no man-made structures, and shows no indication of there ever having been any.
SCP-AHIG's surface contains large stains or "patches" of blood, all approximately 2 meters in diameter.
SCP-AHIG's surface contains no ash, soot, or other signs of fire damage.
A human male wearing a white shirt and jeans stands on the west side of the hill (henceforth referred to as SCP-AHIG-1). SCP-AHIG-1 appears motionless, and has always been observed facing to the right relative to the observer.

Discovery: SCP-AHIG first came to the attention of the Foundation after a group of high school students from the town of ███████ went missing for several days while on a school excursion by bus. One of the missing students, who was able to backtrack to the starting place of the excursion, reported sighting a "bloody hill," shortly before abandoning the vehicle en masse (see Interview Log AHIG.1). Local Foundation agents were notified, and a covert operation to locate the missing students was initiated. This operation has been succesful, as all remaining students have been located and relocated.

Interviewer: Dr Ziegler.

Dr Ziegler: Good morning, Mr Brandt. I'd like to—

Luther Brandt: Luther, please.

Dr Ziegler: Apologies. Luther, one week ago, you were on a school trip, correct? And during that school trip, you saw something… horrible.

Luther Brandt: For God's sake, doctor, I'm an adult. But yeah, I was looking out of the window — we were in a bus, we were heading back home from Zürich, and we came around a corner, in the forest, and there was this hill.

Dr Ziegler: A hill?

Luther Brandt: Yeah, well, not a normal hill. It was all pale, and barren, like — I don't know, like it was burned down, maybe. And there were these… these patches of blood.

Dr Ziegler: Patches?

Luther Brandt: Yeah, patches.

Dr Ziegler: Could you describe these… blood patches?

Luther Brandt: I… I don't know… just patches. You know like — they weren't stains, just… as if someone poured a bunch of blood on the ground. Not pools, they didn't flow or anything, it's a hill, it would've flowed. No, just… like paint splatters, but of blood, and pretty tidy, actually.

Dr Ziegler: I see. Could you describe what happened on or around that hill?

Luther Brandt: What… what happened?

Subject is quiet for several seconds.

Dr Ziegler: The events that took place there. I can imagine—

Luther Brandt: What happened on the hill? Nothing happened on the hill. We didn't go on the hill. We ran away, as fast as we could — for God's sake, what, wouldn't you?

Dr Ziegler: I apologise. You seem quite certain that what you saw were patches of blood.

Luther Brandt: They were.

Dr Ziegler: How exactly are you so certain?

Luther Brandt: Because it was blood. I mean, it just was. You look at it, and you know it's blood. What else?

Dr Ziegler: I see. Do you still remember what it was that you saw that frightened you?

Luther Brandt: A little bit, actually. We went underneath the hill, and we saw that the whole thing was hollow.

Dr Ziegler: The hill, you mean?

Luther Brandt: Yeah. A big cave, the entire hill was a cave, there was an opening in the side of the hill, so we investigated. There was this explosive or flammable yellow gas, and the FBI wanted to explode it. So I ran.

Dr Ziegler: I'm sorry, the FBI?

Luther Brandt: Yeah, a bunch of people with brown coats and brown hats. FBI.

Dr Ziegler: I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time… one moment.

Dr Ziegler pauses briefly.

Dr Ziegler: Alright. You said nothing happened on the hill, but clearly… something did.

Luther Brandt: Well, not on the hill. And plenty of things happened while I was running away. There was this big boulder that the explosion launched that I had to jump over, and me and my friend hid in this temple of the ancient beings.

Dr Ziegler: Ancient beings?

Luther Brandt: Beings. That are ancient. Long dead. Because they are ancient. Come on, doctor.

Dr Ziegler: I think I'll just conclude the interview here, then.

Luther Brandt: Oh, one last thing, I forgot. There was this man, standing on the side of the hill. I could only see the right side of him, but he didn't do anything, besides just stand there.

Dr Ziegler: Thank you, Mr Brandt. You have been very helpful.

Dr Ziegler: Thank you for coming. I'd like to ask you some questions about last week's school trip.

Irma Rosenthal: Sure.

Dr Ziegler: I've been told you saw a certain hill on the way back. Could you describe this hill?

Irma Rosenthal: Sure. It was, uh… just a normal hill, but empty. No trees, not a lot of grass, but there were these big blood stains everywhere. Really creepy.

Dr Ziegler: Were there any people present?

Irma Rosenthal: Just one, I think. I saw one man, with a white shirt and jeans standing on the hill. He was staring at something in the distance, but I couldn't see what.

Dr Ziegler: You could only the right side of him?

Irma Rosenthal: Yeah, exactly.

Dr Ziegler: Alright then. Could you tell me more about what happened before you witnessed this hill?

Irma Rosenthal: What happened during the bus ride, you mean?

Dr Ziegler: Yes.

Irma Rosenthal: I… I don't know, just regular things. People were chatting, on their phone, making a mess of the bus, that sort of thing. No one even noticed the hill before we were halfway past it. I guess the bus driver didn't really see it either.

Dr Ziegler: But he did stop the bus.

Irma Rosenthal: After a little bit, yeah. He didn't slam the brakes, actually.

Dr Ziegler: I see. One thing that strikes me, I must say, is that you seem rather calm about the whole event.

Irma Rosenthal: Well, yeah.

Dr Ziegler: Why is that?

Irma Rosenthal: We got away.

Dr Ziegler: What from?

Irma Rosenthal: Something bad, I know that much. It was a bad place to be, so we fled, of course.

Dr Ziegler: And there were no problems, of any kind, while you fled?

Irma Rosenthal: No, of course not, the escalator got me right out of there.

Dr Ziegler: There was an escalator in the forest?

Irma Rosenthal: Not in the forest, not exactly. In the mall.

Dr Ziegler: Where did… where did this escalator take you?

Irma Rosenthal: Down, actually. I had to run up the damn thing. Took me a while, but I got away.

Dr Ziegler: But could you… could you tell me where you were when you did finally… get away?

Irma Rosenthal: Where I was?

Dr Ziegler: Yes.

Irma Rosenthal: I don't understand.

Dr Ziegler: You don't understand the question?

Irma Rosenthal: No, I… why would I? Where else would I be?

Command: Team, do you copy?

Theia: Copy.

Deino: Copy.

Argos: Copy.

Brontes: Copy.

Command: Good. Proceed south towards the anomaly. The missing students have likely fled north, so keep an eye out.

Theia: Got it.

Time: 1205 hours. Team reaches perimiter.

Deino: Is there any footage of this anomaly? Fotographs, video and such?

Theia: Negative. It would've been in the file.

Deino: Why not, is it a cognitohazard?

Theia: No, it's not.

Deino: Command?

Command: That information is classified.

Deino: I guess we have to take the pictures, then.

Theia: Correct.

Time: 1212 hours.

Brontes: I found something.

Tiresias: What is it?

Brontes: It's a shoe. Could've belonged to one of the kids.

Command: Good. Bag it, Brontes. Any indication of where he or she might've headed?

Brontes: I can look around.

Theia: Good idea. Brontes, Argos, you two head west. We'll regroup later.

Argos: Will do.

Time: 1215 hours. Theia, Deino and Tiresias arrive at SCP-AHIG.

Theia: Command, I have visual on the bus.

Command: Any sign of life?

Theia: Negative.

Command: Any signs of a struggle? Blood, tracks, et cetera?

Theia: None that I can see.

Command: Copy. Proceed towards the anomaly. Argos, Brontes, found anything interesting?

Brontes: Nothing. Not even a footprint. Should I continue looking, or…?

Command: Negative. Head south-west, and rendezvous at SCP-AHIG.

Deino: Command, we can see the hill.

Command: Copy that. If it does turn out to be a cognitohazard, you have permission to turn off your cameras and microphones.

Deino: You're sure?

Command: Sure. Theia, I suggest you wait for Brontes and Argos before you climb up SCP-AHIG.

Theia: Not necessary. I don't see anything out of the ordinary. No FBI, at least.

Command: Alright then. Do take some samples of the blood, though.

Time: 1220 hours. Brontes and Argos arrive at SCP-AHIG.

Argos: We're here.

Tiresias: Finally. We're already on the hill.

Theia: Can you—

Argos: Oh God…

Theia: What is it?

Argos: It's the guy, I can see the guy…

Theia: SCP-AHIG-1? The man from the file, that's facing right, you mean?

Argos: Yeah, him…

Theia: Is he doing anything?

Argos: No, he's not…

Theia: Command, permission to approach AHIG-1?

Command: Approved.

Time: 1221 hours. Theia, Deino and Tiresias walk south-west on the hill and approach SCP-AHIG-1. No physical contact is made.

Tiresias: Can you see him?

Time: 1222 hours. Team observes SCP-AHIG-1. SCP-AHIG-1 is immobile, and is seen facing right from all perspectives.

Tiresias: Command, can you see him?

Tiresias: Command, can you see what he's doing?

Time: 1225 hours. Team continues to observe SCP-AHIG-1. SCP-AHIG-1 is immobile, and remains in the exact state he was observed previously.

Tiresias: Command, SCP-AHIG-1 isn't doing anything.

Tiresias: Command, SCP-AHIG-1 is still immobile.

Time: 1230 hours. Team continues to observe SCP-AHIG-1. Command does not object. SCP-AHIG-1 is immobile, and is seen facing right.

Tiresias: Command? Command, my camera is off.

Tiresias: Command, look at my feed. My camera is off.

Tiresias: Command, my camera is—

Time: 1237 hours. Team continues to observe SCP-AHIG-1. Team does not flee. Command does not object. SCP-AHIG-1 is immobile, and does not flee.

Tiresias: —off. Command, look at my feed. My camera is off. Command, look—

Time: 1246 hours. Team continues to observe SCP-AHIG-1, which is immobile. Team stays put. SCP-AHIG-1 does not move. None do anything, and thus, nothing happens.

Time: 1248 hours. Theia, Argos, Brontes, Tiresias and Deino head back to base. Team encounters no complications and takes a short and direct route back. Mission ends.
