Definition: SCP-5877 Appears to be a sewing needle that the foundation staff has dated back to the mid 1100's. This needle is approximately 2.4 inches long with a diameter of 0.25 inches. SCP-5877 is made entirely of silver and is broken on the surface around the eye.

Anomalous properties: Upon visual contact with SCP-5877 anyone exposed will have the immediate urge to prick themselves. Upon pricking themselves the instance of SCP-5877 will attempt to prick others to spread SCP-5877-1 as shown by a class-D personnel In Dr.Smiths' experiment. The following transcript is from Dr.Smith's recollection of how an instance of SCP-5877-1 was first created.

Doctor smith:"alright Mike just enter the room and tell us what you feel."
Mike:"i'm entering the containment cell now
Doctor smith:"Good, continue to the center"
Mike:"a needle?"
Doctor smith:"Just tell me how you feel"
Mike: "I need to… I need, to grab the needle"
Mike: "I I I, must stab them"
Doctor Smith:"hmm interesting"
Doctor Smith:"Mike who is them?"
*Class-D continues to walk to door the with SCP-5877 with no regard to the question*
Doctor Smith:"Mike put the needle back down and answer me before we let you out"
*Class-D does not respond*
Doctor Smith:"Mike if you do not respond I will send security to terminate you"
*again class-D does not respond*
*on site personnel enter the containment chamber and terminate the class-D*

During the autopsy of the instance of SCP-5877-1 the Doctor found (55ft) of white thread inside Mikes vanes and wrapped around his heart. The Doctor performing the autopsy was terminated after accidentally making skin contact with the thread. These events led Doctor Smith and his researchers to believe that both SCP-5877 and SCP-5877-1 have the ability to create a new instance of SCP-5877-1. The foundation researchers have Since then done one other report on an instance of SCP-5877-1.
