Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored inside a plexiglass container spanning 32cm in width and 15cm in height. This container shall include an insulated lining and must be locked1. This reinforced box is to be kept on a stone podium measuring 1.2m in height and kept within an airtight 5m x 5m concrete chamber. Within this chamber, two security cameras are stationed in the north-western and south-eastern corners to monitor tests with SCP-XXXX. Two SD guards2 are to be stationed outside of SCP-XXXX's containment area at all times to remove unauthorised individuals who attempt to breach SCP-XXXX's containment.

In the event of a test for SCP-XXXX, two MTF guards3 are to accompany the science and Class-D personnel. The Class-D is to be placed within the chamber4 and the box will be remotely unlocked via a terminal outside the containment area. During a site-wide breach, SCP-XXXX is to be kept within its box secured with an NTF unit who will not remove it from their sight until it can be transported into a secure area. Any affected by SCP-XXXX's toxins are to be given class A amnestics and to be transported to the infirmary.

Description: SCP-XXXX takes the form of a standard Diplomat Tabacco Pipe, holding a wooden end yet having a leathery finish that makes up most of the chamber. Within the chamber's interior is a black plastic material5 that lines the bottom area. At 2:07 PM every day, a grainy substance resembling one of tobacco seems to appear within the Chamber. Efforts to record this phenomenon show the substance to fall out of the pipe's stem. However, when the stem was further inspected, no traces of this tobacco substance was found within any other parts of the pipe.

At exactly 3:57 PM, the grainy substance would have disappeared from the chamber, leaving a tar-like substance. In between 2:07 PM and 3:55 PM, a recording shows the substance to slowly grow gooey and liquidise slowly until the end, where it had fully burned away to leave said residue. During this time, a thick grey smoke will rise from the chamber and fill the room it is held in. Those who inhale this smoke will begin a "high", showing obvious signs of intoxication like reddened eyes and a lower attention span.

Subjects in this high report the first 10 - 12 minutes to feel uplifting and stimulating, showing amusing hallucinations and giving an effect of euphoria. This euphoric state would soon drain, and fatigue would begin to set in at the 14-minute mark. Those under this high would then report a paranoia and would begin to hallucinate figures standing around them. Most subjects would soon descend into an insane state after 17-minutes of inhaling this smoke. But some individuals who smoke regularly seem to withstand this point of insanity for another 4 to 5 minutes.

During said time, they report seeing hallucinations that vary on different subjects. One hallucinated the containment chamber being covered in unidentified insects and another report, given by a previous scientist, shows an interpretation of SCP-4601 which seems to show the fear of the user through hallucination. This shows to be promising as using said smoke with SCPs like SCP-682 could show their fears, which could be used during a termination attempt.
