Special containment procedures:
SCP-4673 is to be contained in a Class 3 weapons locker, guarded by 2 armed guards and is to remain there at all times. A class 3 researcher or higher must approve any testing to be performed on SCP-4673. Additionally, SCP-4673 is not to be attempted to be stripped, deconstructed or modified without permission from a class 3 researcher.

Description: SCP-4673 is a standard L85 A2 SA80 assault rifle, commonly used in the British Armed Forces. SCP-4673 does not show any types of physical damage, and on recovery was shown to be in excellent condition, despite the nature of the rifle for front line purposes. Upon firing, SCP-4673 experiences no recoil, and seems to have a “bottomless clip” once a standard 5.56mm 30 round magazine is inserted. The cause for these anonymous properties are unknown, but it is theorised it is due to the weapons actual design.

Note from Dr. Walker:
“This SCP is an interesting one. The bottomless clip and no recoil make it the ideal weapon. However, if used in a harmful manner, the loss of life could be staggering. Still, this is why this foundation exists: to protect the world from these threats.”

Testing Log #01:
Objective: to test SCP-4673’s capabilities on a conventional 100m firing range
SCP-4473 was placed in a room along with 3 standard 5.56mm 30 round magazines and combat webbing.
Agent █████ from MTF Nine Tailed Fox (known in the test report as Alpha) is chosen due to his experience with he standard L85 assault rifle and his remarkable marksmanship. Dr Walker and Agent █████’s commander oversaw the test in the adjacent room with a bulletproof window.

Dr Walker: “Alpha, equip the webbing, place the magazines in the ammo pouch and to ready the rifle for firing.”
Alpha: “Sir, these magazines are empty.”
Commander: “Do it, █████!”
Alpha complies, and gun cocking sounds are heard.
Dr Walker: “Fire at target one in single fire mode five (5) times. Please remark on any abnormalities you face when firing please.”
Alpha complies. On the first shot, he looks visibly surprised of the lack of recoil.
Alpha: “Sir, normal weapons like this one has some amount of kick, but this one has none at all. The fact it is firing at all is so confusing!”
Dr Walker: “So you do no experience any recoil at all?”
Alpha: “No sir.”
Dr Walker: “Thank you, carry on.”
Alpha finishes his firing test, firing much more rapidly than an agent should when conducting firing practice.
Dr Walker: “Thank you Alpha. You may unload the weapon and wait outside.”
END LOG
Test Conclusion: Following the report of the lack of recoil by Alpha, the range was then inspected to check that any rounds were fired down range. The results show 10 rounds of different calibre, ranging from a 9x19mm NATO Parabellum round, to a .50 BMG round. Theories
Ending note from Alpha’s commander: “That shooting was bloody amazing. Agent █████ may be known for his marksmanship skills, but even this is breaking all foundation records! If we can use this weapon in combat, the results of all battles would be drastically different.”

Addendum 01: On a containment raid by the GoI XXXXX on ██/██/████, a security guard stationed at SCP-4673 locker used SCP-4673 to protect 7 foundation staff, including Dr Walker. Although this act was a removal of an SCP without permission, the charges on the guard were dropped in light of his bravery and courage protecting foundation staff.

Revised Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4673 is to be contained in a Class 3 weapons locker containing a standard 5.56mm 30 round magazine, guarded by 2 armed guards and is to remain there at all times. A class 3 researcher or higher must approve any testing to be performed on SCP-XXXX. Additionally, SCP-XXXX is not to be attempted to be deconstructed or examined in anyway. SCP-4473’s containment status is to be automatically lowered to allow any security staff to unlock its container whenever a breach alarm is sounded.

Addendum 2: On 31/10/XXXX, foundation members have identified the designer for SCP-XXXX, labelling him GoI 4473-101. He is yet to enter foundation custody, however a draft of questions are being written, including how the rifle works, how it was designed and when, and other potential causes for its status.
