SCP concept, SCP-XXXX, The Mysterious headset
DESCRIPTION:
SCP-XXXX is a large, grey pair of headphones, with a notable red luminescent stripe running across both earmuffs. The inscription IIIIX is engraved on both sides of the headset. When in close proximity to the object, a strong urge to put them on will overflow any humanoid creature's nerve system, resulting in the eventual equipping of the headset.
CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
SCP-XXXX is to be sealed inside an airtight fiberglass cube, and locked up inside the anomalous objects storage. Official designation is yet to be determined, but from all tests so far, it has been judged safe by most senior researchers on site. Unauthorized personnel are not permitted to interact with SCP-XXXX unless given permission by a level 3 or higher researcher.
TEST 1:
The D-class personnel enters the chamber containing SCP-XXXX, and almost immediately walks towards the object. When questioned, Subject describes a need to put it on, and how it was a matter of life or death to him. Subject proceeds to put on SCP-XXXX, and stiffens. For 13 minutes, 56 seconds, Subject stares straight ahead, not moving, or making a sound. Scans indicate Subject is still alive. 13 minutes, 56 seconds pass Luminescent orange wires begin shooting out of the headset, wrapping around Subject's head, in a loose weave pattern, and Subject begins to smile. Subject remarks,
“It's so beautiful, so so beautiful.”
Subject begins to cry tears of joy, and after a while goes completely silent. Approximately 4 and a half hours later, the orange wires, (from this point on referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) began unravelling, and Subject reacted, as if he had been disorientated. SCP-XXXX-1 retract back into the headset, and the glowing red stripes along the sides of the object pulse, and the previously engraved IIIIX begins to shift, changing to IIIIXI.
When questioned, Subject described a feeling of absolute euphoria when he donned the headset, and once the luminescent wires covered his face, it felt like he had been transported, instantaneously, to the shore of a lake in Kadjanka, Poland. He said this used to be his family's old summer home, and all of his fondest memories were formed there. He was able to walk around, swim in the lake, touch the ferns, even go on a hike, while his body never moved an inch. And yet, he swore he was actually moving, even claiming he partially scraped his shoulder on a tree branch, and when checked, he did indeed have a small scratch on his left elbow. Current speculation is that SCP-XXXX has the ability to generate some form of alternate dimension, where the target of its anomalous abilities can feel, touch, taste, see, and hear, while their real body remains stationary and alive. It is important to note that any injuries taken in this alternate dimension will appear on the target's body, but it is still unconfirmed whether it is possible to die in this dimension.
