SITE-5123-Δ

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-5123 are to be contained on-site within a wall perimeter comprised of silicon carbide. The entrance to the main chamber of SITE-5123-Δ is to be installed with a large 24-bolt magnum vault door and is to be sealed at all times. Instances of SCP-5123 are to be secured to the ground floor with reinforced steel chains, with a type-23 autonomous restraining device outfitted between their necks and set to activate in case of a containment breach.1

No personnel are allowed to attempt to interact with any instance of SCP-5123.

In the possible event that previous failsafe procedures fail to effectively prevent an INTI event, the following actions are to be immediately enacted remotely by Foundation personnel: All inner chambers of SITE-5123-Δ are to be fully flooded with water and all potential entrances are to be sealed with a quick-dry concrete mix.

In the case that any instance of SCP-5123 breaches the surface, the on-site nuclear device is to be detonated.

Due to the scale of SCP-5123, as of the time of writing (25/03/2020), containment procedures for SCP-5123 are yet to be fulfilled.

Description: SCP-5123 is a collection of 987,467 statues comprised of an extremely resistant material of unknown composition, located in an underground structure within the jungle of Loreto, Peru. This has been designated as SITE-5123-Δ2, spanning an area of approximately 185,000 m2. SCP-5123 instances are humanoid entities with exaggerated facial features and horn-like protrusions from their craniums. Instances of SCP-5123 vary in age and gender, and several are approximately the size of prepubescent human children. SCP-5123's poses and body language indicate them in extreme distress.

SCP-5123-735

Initial archeological exploration3 of the ruins discovered the main chamber within the underground structure, which had been theorized to have inadvertently activated SCP-5123's anomalous effects. Investigation of the statues revealed that they are living entities, and have demonstrated its abilities of extremely limited, but increasingly greater mobility, the speed of which is of an infinitesimally gradual nature. Since the discovery, SCP-5123 instances have been able to move a median distance of 1 μm4.

The exponential nature of the anomaly signifies that instances of SCP-5123 are estimated to gain full mobility on 14/09/2024, at which point an INTI Event is expected to occur. All instances of SCP-5123 are faced towards the exit of the main chamber.

Research on SITE-5123-Δ's history and lore5 has revealed that SCP-5123 entities were considered hostile, and posed a substantial threat to the human civilization that constructed SITE-5123-Δ. To prevent extinction, they were transmuted to statues via an unknown process. The discovery of the site is theorized to have halted this process, allowing an exponentially increasing rate of mobility to occur within each instance of SCP-5123.

Following the assessment of information, after the completion of the wall carvings translation, the following conclusion has been reached: The exact nature and full capabilities of SCP-5123 instances are unclear should they be released. As such, the potential of a high-level disruption event is highly probable.
