Item #: 4483
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4483 is to be suspended between opposing magnets that are a the smallest distance apart possible without coming into contact with SCP-4483, as well as in a vacuum at all times. under no circumstances should any form of matter come into contact with SCP-4483.
Description: SCP-4483 is a substance similar to water in appearance, but becomes slightly more viscous when in contact with anything other than itself, including things like air. This viscosity seems to increase as more tests are done, however the reason is unknown. It is almost completely clear with very little light refraction when observed, but darkens any light that shines on it by about 20%. any object that comes into contact will SCP-4483 will immediately "fall apart" in a sense into its largest individual pieces. (i.e. a lego building would fall apart into legos.) there does not, however seem to be any limit to what SCP-4483 can break down into simpler components, including molecules and particles, and matter taken apart by SCP-4483 becomes near impossible to reassemble. SCP-4483 also exerts magnetic properties for unknown reasons. when observed under a microscope, SCP-4483 did not appear to be made of molecules itself, but rather continued to appear as a mass of liquid, just as it does normally. SCP-4483 also appears to be vibrating rapidly when observed using infrared, though it is unclear where the energy for this vibration is coming from. The pieces of objects that interact with SCP-4483 also consistently weigh slightly less than the initial object before interacting with it, although SCP-4483 never seems to get any heavier.
Discovery: SCP-4483 was originally discovered as a cloud about 30ft. above the ground in ████████
Nevada. it was known of by the SCP foundation for ████ days before its magnetic properties were discovered and utilized in containment.
| object tested | results | other notes |
|---|---|---|
| water | the water began to boil very rapidly and mix with SCP-4483 for ██ seconds, after which SCP-4483 separated its self from the resulting substance | when tested, the liquid left behind by the water was pure oxygen, but in a liquid form. it can be assumed that the gas boiled of was simply hydrogen. |
| Sodium Chloride (salt) | the salt began to react violently, both burning and sending SCP-4483 splattering around the testing facility. | the nature of this SCP-4483 made this experiment very difficult to clean up, and the violent reaction made examining the remaining substance impossible. |
| Live mouse | the mouse touched SCP-4483 with one of its paws then walked away. several seconds later the mouse's skin split perfectly down the middle, and all of its individual organs individually and disconnectedly fell out of its body including a single large drop of all of its blood. | this substance may be useful for examining certain other organisms, such as ████████ |
