Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4639 is to be kept in the center of a 20mx20mx20m maximum security cell. No less then (10) armed guards are to be positioned around the cell at all times. Any unauthorized personel attempting to access SCP-4639 are to be immediately terminated, and their body incinerated as soon as possible.
One (1) D-Class personnel is to enter the cell every week. After moving within five (5) meters of SCP-4639, the D-Class is to be instructed to exit the chamber, terminated immediately, and their body burned.
All instances of SCP-4639 found are to be transported by D-Class personnel to the containment cell, and all D-class involved are to bbe immediately terminated, and their bodies burned.
Description:
SCP-4639 is a green crystal, approximately one (1) meter high and fifty (50) centimeters wide and long. SCP-4639 emits a constant electromagnetic field. Living humans undergo cardiac arrest within three (3) hours of coming into contact with the field, and invariably die. When a human corpse is brought within the field, crystals similar to SCP-4639-1 begin to grow in the decomposed tissues of the corpse. At this point, the corpse becomes an instance of SCP-4639-1. However, anyone who is killed via contact with SCP-4639's field do not become instances of SCP-4639-1 unless their corpse is brought within the range of SCP-4639's field.
Within twenty-four (24) hours after brain death, the brain stem of an instance of SCP-4639-1 resumes activity. SCP-4639-1 are limited in motion by their decomposition (an instance with heavily decomposed muscles will move significantly slower). By this point in decomposition, crystals of SCP-4639 will have already begun growing in the decomposed tissues of the instance of SCP-4639-1.
Instances of SCP-4638-1 will then attempt to kill any humans it sees, via biting, scratching, strangulation, head trauma, or any other method available to it. Instances have a limited mental capacity, and therefore cannot complete complex tasks (like loading, aiming, and shooting a gun). When an instance of SCP-4639-1 successfully kills a human or sees a human corpse, the instance becomes docile and begins consuming said corpse. The crystals on the instance's body affect the corpse as well, turning whatever is left into an instance of SCP-4639-1.
Instances of SCP-4639-1 do not require any sustenance, and will persist until they decompose completely, becoming another instance of SCP-4639. SCP-4639
