Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment chamber, under constant video surveillance. In the event of a power failure, Guards are to manually observe the anomaly in containment through the one-way mirror present outside the chamber until power is restored. In the unlikely event of a containment breach, Site personnel are not to take refuge in an evacuation shelter. All personnel are to stay in the nearest empty and secure room, and are instructed to avoid contact or the attention of any other humanoid entities. Do not leave your respective rooms, do not allow entry to any outside entities until the all-clear has been announced.

If you become aware that you have been unconscious for an indeterminate amount of time, exit your place of refuge and approach the nearest Mobile Task Force unit to be detained.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity with an approximate height of one hundred and eight centimeters, and weight of seventy-two kilograms. SCP-XXXX's clothes consist of a black trenchcoat, leather gloves, boots, and a hood over the humanoid's head. The face of SCP-XXXX is currently unknown as the hood blocks the ability to perceive or associate any facial attributes of the anomaly, only allowing the lips of the entity to remain visible. Attempts to remove SCP-XXXX's hood have been met with failure. SCP-XXXX does not need nourishment and does not appear to age.

SCP-XXXX was discovered on 01/01/01 in the town of [] in Alaska, United States. The Foundation was alerted to the presence of an anomaly after several humanitarian efforts by the United States government to provide aid for natives exposed to the 1918 Influenza outbreak had led to the disappearance of multiple government employees. Mobile Task Force Kappa-15, designated "Winged Hussars" was dispatched to the location mentioned with the anticipation of a Keter-level object involved. See Recovery Log XXXX-1 for more information. Anomaly contained with the aid of sedatives used at a distance.

SCP-XXXX's behavior is remarkably passive around personnel and greets them quite warmly. SCP-XXXX only becomes hostile with personnel experiencing/thinking of the following:

  • Thoughts of suicide
  • Approaching SCP-XXXX or another person with the intention to harm
  • Depressional thoughts
  • Visible anger and acts of aggression

SCP-XXXX, upon seeing a human with the aforementioned qualifications will proceed to knock the victim unconscious through various methods such as strangulation or blunt force trauma. SCP-XXXX will then produce a small, anomalous leather patch from its coat, as well as thread and needle to sew on the victim's back, now referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. The patch is always sewn in the area of the skin above where the spinal cord connects to the brain. This process can take anywhere from five to ten minutes. Once this is complete, SCP-XXXX has full control over the victim's will, and the subject is essentially dead. Life functions are restored, despite any damage done to the victim, however lethal. From here, subjects communicate and interact with people and objects non-anomalously. When prompted about the passage of time, SCP-XXXX-1 subjects do not recall the events correctly and insist that they slept, no matter if they were not in a position to do so.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances do not appear to break out of their 'sleeper' state, until within the vicinity of SCP-XXXX. Once victims are within the range of effect, SCP-XXXX has full control over them, as well as possession of their recent memories. It is hypothesized that SCP-XXXX's range is limited, however, it is not known how far that range extends.1

Removal of the anomalous leather patch is possible, but not recommended as any instance of SCP-XXXX-1 that has had it removed in the past has expired. Brain function is non-existant after removal, and resuscitation has proven ineffective.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX

Interviewer: Dr ██████

Foreword: [Small passage describing the interview]

<Begin Log, [optional time info]>

SCP-XXXX: Good morning, Dr ██████.

Dr ██████: Hello, a good morning to you too. We recovered you in.. Dr ██████ shuffles through her papers ████, Alaska. What were you doing there?

SCP-XXXX: What does any good person do in the wilderness? They hunt.

Dr ██████: For sport, I'm assuming.

SCP-XXXX: I'm not a hunter of humans, dear Doctor. There is a much grander game out there.

Dr ██████: It would intrigue us greatly if you could elaborate as to what you were doing to two hundred innocents with that in mind.

SCP-XXXX: They are free. Freer than before they were alive. They are no longer bound to the chains which their own minds forge as a handicap. They may be different to you, Doctor, but they are just as human.

Dr ██████: They are not at all free! You removed every piece of Humanity that there was in them! They can't think for themselves for Christ's sake! Humanity is nothing without the ability to think freely! You've made them all into brainless automatons! Exactly how is that a lesser handicap than before?

SCP-XXXX: They will know the joy of creation.
