Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5683 is kept inside a replica forest inside site 27’s biological wing. Despite the sentience of SCP-5683 it is extremely easy to contain. Humidity of the room must be kept at 70% with a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. SCP-5683’s cell has a sprinkler system that goes of twice a week. Site 27 personnel are welcome to engage in conversation with SCP-5683 at anytime. Personnel at site 27 are welcome to take small samples of SCP-5683 and bring them back to their rooms.
SCP-5683 only has one anomalous property being that it has the intellect of a average human male in their mid 20s. SCP-5683 is not dangerous in any way unless consumed in which it gives the consumer a disease designated SCP-5683-1 symptoms are similar to the common cold and is transmitted in the same way.
Description: SCP-5683 is a previously unknown species of moss. Samples of SCP-5683 has shown that the inside of the moss is almost entirely made of neurons. As SCP-5683 has taken over more of it’s containment cell it seems to get more intelligent. Samples of SCP-5683 taken keep the intelligence despite being removed from the main mass. SCP-5683 might have a
hive-mind like structure.
SCP-5683 will refuse to grow on-top of living organisms and will even recede if contact with a living organism is made.
