Discovery Journal:

“We have found something interesting. Earlier today we discovered an SCP that appeared to be a ghost. One of our men went forward and his eyes suddenly rolled into the back of his head. He turned on us and said ‘Destroy the people. Destroy them all.’ In the end we were forced to kill him. I told my men to stay back. I ordered the bravest one to shoot at it to see what happens. The bullet penetrated the SCP but it didn’t seem to notice. I ordered all my men to retreat. Recording over.”

“Last night one of our men went into the woods to relieve himself and never came back. We searched, but all we found was footprints, but not just his, there was someone else's footprints in the dirt.We followed the footprints in the morning and they led to an old bunker with an odd smell wafting out of it. I decided not to go in, just in case the SCP was still inside. As we headed back to camp, I could have sworn I heard something following us, but when I turned around there was nothing there.Odd. Recording Over.”

“This morning we found yet another of our numbers missing. We searched, but this time we found nothing, not even footprints. I sent a crew back to the bunker with gas masks to see if the missing men or the SCP were there. They still haven’t returned, which worries me. I fear that the SCP is picking us off, one by one, for some reason or another. I have ordered the men to stay in camp at all times. I hope these measures will protect us. Recording over.”

“Today we were all still here, which is a relief, but there is a musty smell in the air, like a century of dust had settled in the air overnight. The research crew returned, to my great relief, but they were mentally unstable. From what I could tell, the SPC had been there surrounded by bones. They all died of heart attacks hours later. I have alerted their families. Recording over.”

“The disappearances have occurred again, only this time it’s more than one person: half of the camp had disappeared. We found no sign of struggle, so they left willingly…or so I thought until later on when the SCP came back, and the second it got close to someone the instantaneously fell under its control.I can only assume that it has some sort of control effect. When I tried contacting the base I discovered all the phones had been cut. After the SCP left the musty smell was in the air again. I have decided to label it ‘The Gas Man’ for I believe that it uses nauseous gases to control it’s victims. Recording Over."

“I woke up to find the Gas Man standing over me. I could not control my actions. It brought me to the bunker and left, probably to get more. I have found the others, still alive, but barely. SCP-8957 has obviously done this before. There are bones everywhere. Oh no, it’s coming, this thing is dangerous do not send another crew-ppsshhhhhhh-clack!”
