Item #: SCP-4XXX
Object Class: Euclid
+Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is located in a large medieval town around the center of the Siberian forest. Any outside personnel are to be detained and escorted out of the area if they draw too close to the containment site. Food, water, and various materials and tools are to be delivered via helicopter at the site once a month. A small camp of staff guards and researchers are stationed just outside the site, and are to regularly engage in friendly interaction with SCP-XXXX during it's surgeries and crafts, and any vital information and instances of SCP-XXXX-A, B, or C are to be sent to site-██.
+Description
SCP-XXXX is an animate humanoid mannequin made of crudely carved wood, various metals, and human bones. It stands at roughly 6 feet tall, and always wears a leather coat with a hood, which is dyed gray. The skeleton of SCP-XXXX is held together via wiring and metallic joints, and have many nails or metal attachments acting as a frame to support its wooden exterior. Its hands are somewhat larger than normal in construction but are still fully functional.
SCP-XXXX is highly intelligent and sapient, and is even able to communicate with other people via writing or typing. It keeps a large, thick leather journal in it's coat, which is full of notes, diary entries, drawings of animal anatomy, blueprints for various mannequin limbs, human identities, and other odd scribbles. A reoccurring thing found in these entries are notes talking about 'Soul' and it's complicated properties.
SCP-XXXX has no facial features other than two carved out holes for eyes, and two small holes where ears would normally be. SCP-XXXX is hollow apart from it's skeleton and frame, and it's body is segmented, where the human bones and wiring is visible through.
SCP-XXXX is talented in crafts, taxidermy, and surgery, often tending to it's projects for months on end. SCP-XXXX constructs other mannequinlike entities, designated SCP-XXXX-A/B/C [All entities are similar in construction to SCP-XXXX and each other]. After an instance of SCP-XXXX-A, B, or C are created, SCP-XXXX will hold it's hands over the figure, and a bright white light will start shining from an unknown source within SCP-XXXX, and shine through all visible crevices' that reveal its hollow interior. After a time period between a couple of seconds to several minutes, the light coming from within SCP-XXXX will dim out, and the instance created will become animated, and exabit all the same behavior as the species the original skeleton belonged to.
SCP-XXXX lives in the middle of the village within what looks like a hospital, The first 5 floors are suited for the creations of SCP-XXXX-A,B, and C instances. Each room outfitted with surgery tables, surgical equipment, and constructions tools such as screwdrivers and hammers. The 6th floor acts as a storage room, where multiple instances of SCP-XXXX-C work together to create wooden parts for the construction of other SCP-XXXX-A,B, and C instances.
SCP-XXXX-A is an animated animal skeleton, held together with wires and metallic frame, and a carved out segmented wooden exterior. These entities show no abnormal behavior compared to the original animal. The senses of these instances seem to depend on if they have holes carved into the corresponding areas [Ex: If an instance of SCP-XXXX-A doesn't have holes where eyes would normally be, it will appear blind]. Severing parts of these instances appear to hinder the instances no different than the original animal. If a limb is removed, it will cease all function, but can be reattached and reanimated by SCP-XXXX depending on if the limb contained one of the animal's bones or not.
SCP-XXXX-B are mammalian animals that have had limbs replaced with mannequin parts, also containing the animals bones in the frame. The animal also shows no abnormal behaviors, and reacts to damage to these artificial parts no different to biological tissue.
SCP-XXXX-C are replicas of SCP-XXXX without the ability to reanimate living things. There are about 37 instances of SCP-XXXX-C [designated SCP-XXXX-C-1 through 37] within the containment site. Each instance behaves and acts like a normal human, each being of different height, weight, body type, personality, and some with a unique construction different from SCP-XXXX. 22 of the 37 instances have functional jaws, and can create very limited vocals, often responding in a range of 1-5 words. These figures claim to be reanimated humans granted immortality, due to being in a vessel that doesn't rot or require things that other living things require to live.
Each of these instances have a letter 'M' or 'F' carved somewhere on their body that identifies their original gender, and each wear a collar with a nametag with their full name engraved in it, the style of these collars are different for each instance. Note that SCP-XXXX itself does not have these features.
+Interview Log: SCP-XXXX-1
Item#: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr. Oliver / Male
[Note: SCP-XXXX was given access to a text-to-speech computer system with a standard QWERTY Keyboard]
Interviewer: "Hello SCP-XXXX, I am Doctor Oliver, do you have a name yourself or shall I call you by your SCP number?"
SCP-XXXX: "I am unsure of what you mean by SCP, nor do I exactly remember my identity. I'm used to being called, The Hollow."
Interviewer: "Can you recall anything resembling an identity, Hollow?"
SCP-XXXX: "The closest thing to my original name that I can remember is the name Izaak. Judging from the the fact its more of a boys name, I assume my gender was male."
Interviewer: "So shall I call you Hollow, or Izaak?"
SCP-XXXX: "I guess Izaak. I can't remember the last time I was called a human name so a refresher would be nice."
Interviewer: "Well, Izaak, I have a list of questions I'd like you to answer."
SCP-XXXX: "Ask away, good doctor."
Interviewer: "Where are you from?"
SCP-XXXX: "My self knowledge is scarce, but I do remember being from a cult back in early medieval times, and that I was a necromancer. The location I was born or my human life, I cannot recall. The closest thing to my past that I have are my journals."
Interviewer: "So you have more than the one you often carry with you?"
SCP-XXXX: "Of course I do, this isn't some magic book of infinity. haha."
Interviewer: "Of course, so you said you were once human, how did you become… this?"
[SCP-XXXX took several minutes to type out a response]
SCP-XXXX: "My cult was that of magic and reanimation, I was the leader, and lived a long life. When my life inevitably began to end, I requested my members to perform an experiment with my corpse. We had a great understanding of how the human soul operated, and how the closer an object is related to someone, the more likely they would be possessed if the soul had unfinished business; and what could be closer related than the bare bone? As I died I laid on an alter, and after my passing my members began to work. After a while they performed a ritual and I woke, in an undying body, my magic forever preserved within. I continued my research up to this point, and I shall continue doing so, as the first artificial vessel, and the last necromancer."
Interviewer: "That's… an interesting story."
SCP-XXXX: "Indeed, I believe I can remember that much because it is a very important part of my soul's journey."
Interviewer: "Ok, so what is it about this… soul… thing you're so obsessed with?"
SCP-XXXX: "It was originally my religious belief that a ghost was almost certain to be stuck in limbo if their purpose was unserved. So, with the use of my powers, I have to track down lost souls, and reanimated those who were lost so they could finish what they started, and pass on again with their purpose fulfilled. Now only I remain with this magic, and I serve a new purpose, preserving the art of Necromancy."
Interviewer: "So, you say that you're the last of your kind, in lack of better words."
SCP-XXXX: "Yes."
Interviewer: "Well we do contain some anomalous entities with similar abilities that you have, but I doubt you can meet them."
SCP-XXXX: "Really? That gives me hope, a hope I lost long ago. Thank you for giving me this information, and please protect them."
Interviewer: "Will do. So anyways, how exactly does soul work?"
SCP-XXXX: "It is very complicated, and depends on how much you alter the body. If too much is added that has nothing to do with the vessel, then those parts will technically be dead weight. Of course that is if you're talking about resurrection. Haunting is more simple, if its an object, then that object had an important relation to the soul possessing it."
Interviewer: "Can you describe your process of reanimating in greater detail?"
SCP-XXXX: "I can, but I may rant a bit."
Interviewer: "I don't mind, this interview is being recorded after all."
[SCP-XXXX again took several minutes to write a response]
SCP-XXXX: "Wonderful! The soul is a sensitive thing, only created through birth. A biological organism is the source of the soul, but it can be tampered with if you have the power to do so, which I do. The most successful way to reanimate something with artificial parts is to make sure those parts contain something related to the soul, and that it resembles the part of the body it is replacing. Of course changes can be made, one of my human projects is a warrior with a unique feature; this feature is that I specialized their forearms to act like switch blades, using the Ulna bones to act as the modified part of the arms, and had blades added to them. At their will they can flip open those blades from under their palm and use them like how a mantis strikes it's prey. How does it work? The modification had a part of the souls original form, that is how."
Interviewer: "So how this works is that the vessel must at least resemble the original body, and that modifications to the vessel needs a part of the body made into it?"
SCP-XXXX: "In a way, yes. Its more in depth than that but it is very complicated. I'm sure you have a lot more questions and I'd hate to drag on with this one topic."
Interviewer: "No no, that is all for now. I'll see you another time for further interviews, Izaak."
SCP-XXXX: "It was nice meeting you, Doctor Oliver."
Note from Doctor Oliver: "Normally I'd expect SCP's with similar abilities to SCP-XXXX to be hostile in a way, but perhaps it is possible we could work with SCP-XXX to potentially help injured staff who had suffered amputation. It's certainly a possibility."
ENG LOG.
Request to potentially use SCP-XXXX's abilities for medical use is currently pending.

Item: SCP-XXXX-C-30
Interviewer: Doctor Windy / Female
[Note: SCP-XXXX-C-30 was given access to a text-to-speech computer system with a standard QWERTY Keyboard. Also, SCP-XXXX-C-30 is believed to be the experiment referenced by SCP-XXXX, as they seem to have blades in their fore-arms. The name "Jane" is on their collar, and has the letter F carved on their chest.]
Interviewer: "Hello, I assume you're Jane judging by the collar, my name is Doctor Windy and I will be interviewing you today."
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "Hello Windy, I am indeed Jane, it is nice to meet you."
Interviewer: "Nice to meet you too, I'll be asking you some questions if you don't mind."
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "I don't mind at all!"
Interviewer: "Great, so first of all, why do you and the other… Mannequins, for lack of a better term, wear those collars?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "It helps us remember our names, some of us lack jaws and those who do can't speak very well. The collars are just to help us keep track of who is who."
Interviewer: "Right, and what about the F on your chest?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "We are marked male or female based on if we have an M or F carved on our vessels. These mark correspond to our genders before becoming vessels."
Interviewer: "Why do you refer to each other as Vessels?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "Because we are, well, Vessels. We die, and are turned into Vessels as a way to live longer. There have been many more of us before, but immortality is costly."
Interviewer: "What happened to them?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "They killed themselves. If a Vessel is damaged enough, they die much like normal humans. Beside, living forever is bound to get boring."
Interviewer: "Right, so what about those blades in your arms?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "These?"
[SCP-XXXX-C-30 raised their arms and flips out the blades from the slits in their forearms under their wrist]
Interviewer: "Yes, and please put those back."
[SCP-XXXX-C-30 retracts the blades, and lowers its arms back to the keyboard.]
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "Sorry."
Interviewer: "Its alright, so back to the question."
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "Right, I was chosen because I enjoy hunting and battle, and so The Hollow chose me for his experiment."
Interviewer: "Did you give consent to this experiment?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "I did, and I'm not disappointed!"
Interviewer: "Right, so how do you communicate with each other since speech is so difficult for you?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "We normally use hand gestors or sign language."
Interviewer: "Do you enjoy being in this… Vessel?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "It's difficult to explain, the only real upside is that you have no needs for food, water, and you don't really age."
Interviewer: "I see, is this the reason many of the 'Vessels' committed suicide in the past?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "Probably, it could be for various reasons."
Interviewer: "So do you and the other Vessels worship The Hollow?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "The Hollow definitely has good intentions, and has a good reputations among the people, there are still some who worship it though."
Interviewer: "Right, so when was this town you live in created?"
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "I honestly have no clue, it's been around even since before I was born."
Interviewer: "I see, well I have no further questions. I suppose we should wrap up this interview."
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "Alright, will I be able to go back home?"
Interviewer: "That is something I need to ask my superiors, Its possible but I cannot guarantee anything."
SCP-XXXX-C-30: "Alright…"
END LOG.
Experiment Log: SCP-XXXX-1
Item: One SCP-XXXX-A instance.
One SCP-XXXX-A instance resembling a Grey Wolf, and had a functioning jaw, was placed into a cage, and transported to a cell.
Then a reindeer was placed into the same cell, and the cage holding the SCP-XXXX-A instance was opened.
The SCP-XXXX-A instance attacked the reindeer and killed it, then attempted to eat it. Some of the meat from the dead Reindeer hanged out between the wooden segments making out the SCP-XXXX-A's abdomen, and the instance lost interest.
Experiment Log: SCP-XXXX-2
Item: One instance of SCP-XXXX-A, and one instance of SCP-XXXX-B.
Both instances resembled Grey Wolves, The SCP-XXXX-B instance had its head and tail replaced with their sculpted wooden counterparts, and was female. The SCP-XXXX-A instance was theorized to be male. The instances were introduced to each other and attempted mating behavior, however was impossible due to the SCP-XXXX-A instance having no sexual organs.
Experiment Log: SCP-XXXX-3
Item: One SCP-XXXX-B instance.
The SCP-XXXX-B instance was a female reindeer who had its front legs and shoulders replaced with prosthetic parts by SCP-XXXX.
The Instance was restrained to a table, and a researcher entered the cell with a hammer. The researcher was instructed to break one of the wooden limbs of the reindeer, which the researcher followed. Once the wooden limb was broken, the Reindeer started to panic, and was visibly in pain.
Experiment Log: SCP-XXXX-4
Item: Two SCP-XXXX-B instances.
A male and female SCP-XXXX-B instance were introduced to each other in a cell, and were allowed to mate. The Male had its head replaced, and the female had its lower jaw, and lower legs replaced.
The two were kept in captivity until the female gave birth, and the offspring did not have any anomalous properties.
Experiment Log: SCP-XXXX-5
Item: SCP-XXXX
SCP-XXXX was offered a deceased D-Class that was killed during a previous experiment, and was asked if they could re-animate the dead D-Class, and allow the researchers to document the process.
SCP-XXXX agreed and escorted the researchers with the dead D-Class to an empty room for surgery.
SCP-XXXX skinned the corpse down to the bone, and discarded all of meat before leaving the room for 20 minutes. After SCP-XXXX returned, it carried in a crate full of wooden and metallic parts.
Over the coarse of a month, SCP-XXXX fully transformed the dead D-Class into an instance of SCP-XXXX-C. After the transformation was complete, SCP-XXXX wrote in one of its journals accurately describing the identity of the D-Class before they were killed. When SCP-XXXX was questions about how it was able to record the history of the dead D-Class before their death, SCP-XXXX claimed that it read the D-Class's soul, and that it was disappointed by the foundations methods and treatment of these D-Class.
