Idea Prison
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX presents no direct risk of breack, however does have cognitohazardous properties, meaning access is to be restricted. It is contained within a 3m3 room within site 19, and class A amnestics are to be kept in the container beside the door in preparation of the event of viewing SCP-XXXX causing undue distress.
Cameras are placed against both the far and near wall to SCP-XXXX, as cognitohazardous effects only occur when viewed directly.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a spherical cage measuring 2m in diameter made of steel, animal matter, and plant matter. Stainless steel bars provide structure, with a sixteen (16) brains of Bos Tauros, the common cow, spread equidistant around it. The bars are covered in further animal matter which, upon testing, was found to be Bos Tauros synapses. Despite a complete lack of blood these brains seem to be alive and capable of some thought, however this cannot be varified without catastrophically damaging SCP-XXXX. They do not, however appear to have sentience or sapience, and appear to only focus on what is contained within.
One of the brains is roughly stitched to a tube, similar in make up to an umbilical cord, but containing both plant and animal DNA. This connects the brain with a potted Sansevieria trifasciata, commonly referred to as a snake plant.
When viewed from a distance at least 1m from the nearest brain, or through any indirect means, the cage appears empty. However when the cage is viewed directly from a distance of less than 1m the subject percieves SCP-XXXX as a window showing them various XK-Class End of the World Scenarios, which vary from viewer to viewer, even if percieved at the same time, and can shift for an individual viewer over time. See Experiment Log SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX came into the foundation's possession when a disguised figure approached embedded agent Akhtar when he was away from assignment at his family home on 3/6/19██. The individual identified themselves as the creator of SCP-XXXX. The disguised figure said that they had created the device to see whether they could catch the manifestation of a concept, and that when they realised they had "trapped the apocalypse", they realised that the device now had to be protected, and that the foundation were better financed and equipped than he was.
Particularly of note was that this was during an unapproved visit to family members without clearance to know anything about the foundation. It is not yet known how this individual located agent Akhtar who was, after being interviewed about the encounter (See Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A) was given Class B amnestics, and his behaviour watched and logged to look for potential information leaks. When none was found over the next thirty days the embedded agent was terminated due to security concerns.

Name: Researcher Ames
Thesis: SCP-XXXX is the SCP equivalent of a parlour trick, it will display a horrifying image to an individual for the sake of a mere "jumpscare". I feel that as more SCP's are discovered, we are simply getting better at locating mildly anomalous objects.
