Knitting needles or a crochet hook that can knit/crochet without yarn; however, this yarn is pulled from clothing being worn by someone in the vicinity of the user. Material is preferentially pulled from everyone other than the user if possible. The source of yarn can not be chosen and the method of determination is unknown.

When the tool is picked up with the intent of use, yarn appears already cast-on onto the implement. The leading yarn is generally about a foot long, and appears to come out of any nearby yarn bowl or storage container for yarn, or between couch cushions, etc. If nothing like that is available, the end disappears in the air, tho it floats conveniently for the user.
or there is no yarn ball or collection of yarn as a source, save an approx. meter long thread appearing out of nowhere, usually from a yarn bowl if one is nearby.

Found when an old lady in a nursing home was knitting things for charity, unaware that she was declothing a significant portion of the nursing home where she resides. Something something "magic needles" etc. being excited about saving money on yarn (probably wont make it in if I ever decide to actually write this)

Class B amnestics distributed via daily pills of affected residents. Low effort old people joke. I see that last paragraph being one of those "researcher notes" that were popular on older SCPs, but that became strongly discouraged later. It sort of sounded like that wasn't the case anymore when I read the site rules, though.

Oh well! Excited to maybe ask for input on this idea. I wonder if there is something similar already> I also wonder if this is almost a joke SCP.

Got inspired by seeing SCP 618 having really low ratings - I can't remember properly, but when I used to read this site as a teenager (back when SCPs first started having four digits) there was one that was essentially a haunted pirate ship or something? Maybe there were vampires? It was ridiculously campy and one of the staff members had this strange fondness for it. The original author disappeared, it was rewritten dozens of times, and I don't know if it exists anymore.

Anyways, the relatively low number of that low rated SCP made me think - what if there was a "cursed" SCP designation with stories that were always bad, so it was constantly changing? This would probably be a tale or a joke SCP, I can't fathom how something meta like that would be a real SCP. But essentially descriptions of lame concepts that continue to be circulated through this one number, possibly ending in an extremely mundane SCP. I guess it could be a real one if there were just a ton of "updates" having the page reload to something completely new. They should all be short if I consider that, though. I would be unsurprised if this idea has been already done to death, but it's still fun to think about.
