Item #: SCP-TBD
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-TBD is to be kept in standard class-c housing modified class-c housing with extra shelving for books on site – 72. Staff members are to limit visits to two and a half hours to avoid any arguments. SCP-TBD is to be provided with one new book every 2 months to keep him compliant. Any testing of SCP-TBD’s anomalous abilities is to be carried out by MTF Xi – 8 “Cartographers”, due to prior incidents with less experienced staff (see Interview 2). SCP-TBD has asked to be referred to as Dave by staff. This request is to be fulfilled at the discretion of individual personnel members.
Description: SCP-TBD is a man of undetermined age who possess mannequin white skin and lacks any notable features, including eyes, a mouth, ears, hair, freckles, naval, etc. Instead, SCP-TBD seems to have (undetermined due to anomalous properties) minor concave or convex structures where prominent features such as eyes and a mouth would be located on his body. He speaks with a slight British accent, claiming his mother was from Norwich.
SCP-TBD seems to posses a minor anti-memetic attribute with many subjects who have interacted with SCP-TBD having found extreme difficulty in describing him beyond a man with a blank face, being unable to recall clothing, height, or any other features. SCP-TBD also has notable persuasive skills, but these have been deemed non-anomalous.
SCP-TBD seems to have an extensive knowledge of history including the relative whereabouts of several missing or previously missing objects including the previously lost RMS Titanic, the Irish crown jewels, and Atlantis. Testing has shown that SCP-TBD can reliably locate less significant lost objects such as socks or watches with extreme ease. The time required to find an object varies with the shortest being 30 seconds for a set of keys hidden by staff and the longest being 4 months for a P.O.I. known for the illegal distribution of anomalous objects. It is currently unknown how an object is deemed "significant", but it has been hypothesized to be based on SCP-TBD's interest in the object. This has proved to be problematic due to SCP-TBD's extreme enthusiasm in matters relating to history and mysteries. Testing for more significant lost objects is ongoing.
Addendum 1: SCP-TBD seems to not mind and actually enjoys when expressions are drawn on him and often (comically) acts out said expressions.
Interviewed: SCP-TBD
Interviewer: Senior Researcher ███████
Foreword: An interaction between SCP-TBD and Senior Researcher ███████ 10 minutes after SCP-TBD showed up at site - 72 and was detained by on site security.
<Begin Log, 25.08.██>
Researcher ███████ : So… I suppose we should start with the basics. What is your name?
SCP-TBD: You may call me Dave.
Researcher ███████: Well then, Dave it is. May I ask why you've come to our facility?
SCP-TBD: I was doing my nightly reading and came upon some news of a "Foundation" which stores a variety of marvels. I simply had to know what there was to learn about it.
Researcher ███████: So how exactly then did you find this facility?
SCP-TBD: Pardon?
Researcher ███████: This is a secure facility, the whereabouts of which are unknown to the vast majority of the population. (At this point Researcher ███████ becomes visibly agitated) I repeat, how did you find this facility?
SCP-TBD: Oh, yes. I forget at times that others don't have my skills. I'd explain, but I'm at a loss of words at the moment. Is there something bothering you?
Researcher ███████: Yes, please forgive me. Now, leaving my earlier question for later, may I ask you about your, how do I say this…
SCP-TBD: My appearance per chance? Yes, I'm quite aware of and comfortable with it. Ask freely.
Researcher ███████: How long have you been like this?
SCP-TBD: I hate to say this doctor…
Researcher ███████: ███████
SCP-TBD: Yes, thank you. Doctor ███████, I regret to inform you, but I have no recollection of when I came to be like this. It's been a few decades at the least, but what's that matter anyway? When may I investigate your libraries?
** Researcher ███████:** I'm afraid we'll have to find you a place to stay first. Then, you can read and answer some more questions.
<End Log, 25.08.██>
Closing Statement: After some trouble finding housing, further interviews were performed with a variety of results. SCP-TBD seems easily distracted and forgetful whenever the topic of his origin comes up. Further interviews will be performed by Dr. Espy]
Interviewed: SCP-TBD
Interviewer: Dr. Espy
Foreword: SCP-TBD has yet to provide clear details on his origin. Based on loose details, it has been surmised that he is over 70 years of age at the least and that he has been to at least 50 different countries.
<Begin Log, 19.10.██>
Dr. Espy: Hello, SCP-TBD. How have you been?
SCP-TBD: I've been well and please, refer to me as Dave if you will.
Dr. Espy: Well, Dave, since your discussions about your past have been lacking, I'd like to dig more into how you found this facility.
SCP-TBD: Ah yes, you see, I have an uncanny ability to find things that I've researched. I omit no details about my subject and based on what I find, I formulate a rough estimate of the location of the object.
Dr. Espy: Well, the problem with that explanation, along with many others you've provided, is that there are no details about site - 72. None that a civilian could access at the very least. Your story keeps changing and we need something to do with you until you give us answers.
SCP-TBD: Please elaborate madam.
Dr. Espy: There are lots of things we don't understand here, so we can wait to understand you. I'd like to propose we put your "skills" as you call them to good use in the meantime.
SCP-TBD: I'm intrigued, but what is this idea of yours and what would I get in return?
Dr. Espy: We will allow you access to some of our files if you cooperate. You will be provided with access to my anomaly acquisitions detail to aid you in the securing of some persons and items of interest. What do you say?
SCP-TBD: May I choose which person or such I'd like to pursue first?
Dr. Espy: If you'd like.
SCP-TBD: Well, let's get to it then.
<End Log, 19.10.██>
Closing Statement: SCP-TBD was provided with a security detail made up of twelve men to search for SCP-████ which was last reported in ███████, Cambodia. After two months of searching, the force was called back due to inability to understand SCP-TBD's directions, as he was unwilling to simplify any of his descriptions and often fell back on historical references in an attempt to clarify. Currently pending request for an MTF unit to aid in acquisitions.
Addendum 2: From henceforth, all expeditions in search of lost objects are to be executed and overseen by MTF Xi - 8 to avoid loss of time and personnel.
