Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid Neutralized- Special Containment Procedures as of April 24, ████
- Special Containment Procedures as of April 24, 2010
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, containment is currently impossible. However, containment is not necessary so long as the guidelines below are followed in the case of a XXXX-Alpha event.
1. Within 72 hours of a predicted XXXX-Alpha event, weather advisories indicting heavy rains are to be sent to the town of Pipestone, Minnesota. These advisories will also encourage residents to leave the town.
2. Within 24 hours of a XXXX-Alpha event, all internet and phone access is to be cut to the town of Pipestone. This is to be done under the guise of the incoming storm. In addition, Mobile Task Force XXXX is to be contacted and requested for assistance in containment of XXXX-Alpha.
3. Within 6 hours of a XXXX-Alpha event, MTF XXXXXX is to move to the perimeter of the town and complete a sweep of the town, checking for any residents who failed to leave. Any residents found are to be temporarily detained at observational post 21 until the end of a XXXX-Alpha event. Once the event has concluded, they are to be amnesticized with Class B amnestics and are to be returned home.
4. Once the sweep has been finished, all agents are to return to observational post 21 and wait until after the event has concluded to do a second sweep of the town. Any individuals found are to be amnesticized and returned home.
5. After the second sweep has been finished, all personnel are to evacuate the town and return to observational post 21, where observation of potential XXXX-Alpha events will resume. MTF XXXX are to only be present at observational post 21 when a potential XXXX-Alpha event is predicted or occurring.
In addition to these guidelines, the Foundation is currently in the process of convincing the remaining population to leave the town, so-as to be able to close the town permanently. Attempts have been unsuccessful, however further immigration into the town has been suspended for the indefinite future. Until the town can be permanently evacuated, all researchers involved in the containment of SCP-XXXX are to remain at observational post 21 to monitor weather patterns and potential information leaks from residents.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to a weather anomaly and entities that exist during the event. The first being a heavy rainstorm occurring over the town of Pipestone, Minnesota. This rainstorm, and the subsequent fog that follows, is referred to as a XXXX-Alpha event. Following the rainstorm, a large fog will settle on the town and entities comprised of water droplets will wander aimlessly until they encounter other sapient creatures, these entities are designated XXXX-1. The number of entities fluctuates between events, with the most being recorded at 48 and the least being recorded at 12. The fog will last until precisely 6:53 pm, wherein both fog and XXXX-1 entities will dissipate.
Meteorological scans have shown that both the rain and fog can occur when not physically possible despite temperature and precipitation patterns, the source of this phenomena has yet to be determined. Regardless of the current weather, within three days of April 24th, small clouds will begin to migrate and accumulate over Pipestone. For unknown reasons, the water in the Southern branch of Pipestone Creek will begin to float through the air into the sky and fill the clouds, creating storm clouds. Once the clouds have reached appropriate weight, rain will begin around April 23rd and lasts until the early morning of April 24th; fog will begin to settle as the rain ends. Testing of the water which comprises XXXX-1 entities has failed to show anything beyond normal atmospheric water, with standard levels of sediment and pollution that would be expected of any precipitation.
When XXXX-1 entities viewed digitally or from a distance greater than fifty meters, XXXX-1 will resemble child-sized humanoids comprised of water. When subjects view entities at a closer distance, SCP-XXXX-1 will resemble the deceased child John Nelson, subjects will feel compelled to play with the entity and help it in any way they can. Despite there being multiple entities, subjects under the effect of XXXX-1 will only see the first instance they encountered and always identify it as John Nelson. Subjects will also claim that XXXX-1 can speak to them and will be able to recollect bits of conversation they had with entities. To date, no recording or observation from a greater distance has shown that XXXX-1 is able to communicate or is in any way related to the Nelson family.
The only time XXXX-1 has shown itself to be hostile was on April 24, ████, it's discovery date. For more information involving it's discovery, see Addendum XXXX-01.
Addendum XXXX-01: On April 24, ████, SCP-XXXX came to the attention of the Foundation as pictures of XXXX-1 entities flooded social media sites. Mobile Task Force XXXXX was dispatched along with level 3 researchers to investigate the town and stop the spread of anomalous information. When MTF XXXXX arrived on scene, they fell under the effect of XXXX-1 and helped it carry out the murder of Tim Larson. Afterwards, bodycam footage showed MTF XXXXX escorting the body to the Southern branch of Pipestone Creek and promptly submerging the body in the creek. The body was never recovered and this event was titled XXXX Incident Delta. Every following XXXX-Alpha event has been standard and uneventful since Incident Delta.
Following the first XXXX-Alpha event, towns members and MTF agents were interviewed in the hopes of better understanding what occurred during Incident Delta.
Addendum XXXX-02: After several years of containing the yearly anomaly, a new concept has been proposed on containment. A dam is being constructed around the site of Incident Delta to cut off water flow into the creek. Should this dam nullify Alpha events from occurring, Object Class will change from Euclid to Neutralized.
