Special Containment Procedures:

Keep SCP-XXXX in a locked 10 cm by 10 cm by 10 cm wooden box in storage room A1 on site 24. SCP-XXXX must be locked until dates for further testing are scheduled.
SCP-XXXX must be kept in research cell 365-A in a 10 cm by 10 cm by 10 cm steel box with bolt lock. No one is allowed to enter research cell 365-A without permission by at least a Class-C researcher or higher
SCP-XXXX must be neutralized at the soonest time possible. Whether this means destroying it or just neutralizing its anomalous properties is to be discovered. Until a method is found to do either, SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 20 m by 20 m by 20 m cell with 12 cm thick concrete walls and a 15 cm thick steel door with five locking mechanisms. SCP-XXXX is to be under 24/7 surveillance with its tracker chip replaced weekly. When SCP-XXXX teleports, Mobile Task Force-134 (Finders Keepers) equipped with eye-shields and earplugs must be dispatched to find and secure SCP-XXXX. No one without explicit orders by O5 and wearing all required protective wear (eye-shields and ear plugs) is allowed to enter SCP-XXXX cell. When a class-D personnel or researcher has entered SCP-XXXX's cell, the door to the cell must be locked and at least two security officers with earplugs must be stationed at the door. Before leaving, the personnel must visibly put SCP-XXXX back into its glass container, lock it, and step out of its five meter ten meter affection range.

Description:

SCP-XXXX is a United States quarter dated at 1945. It has the same designs of a regular quarter at that time except for one five millimeter scratch on the tails side of it and some light fading. It has a composition of 90% silver and 10% copper as most quarters minted in that time do. The quarter seems to be impervious to damage even when put at temperatures way above what would normal melt it and can sustain damage from a barrage of heavy artillery shells without a single dent. The coin moves about an 2.5 cm a month toward the closest person will teleport sporadically to a random spot on earth that has a person in its 20 meter affection zone.

When a person touches it, (Though people wearing gloves are not affected by this) is within five meters is within 20 meters of the coin, they get the sudden urge to grab it feel slight pain until they grab it feel immense pain until the grab it. Wearing eye-shields seem to prevent SCP-XXXX's affection zone from taking hold wearing both eye-shields and ear-pugs prevent it from taking hold. When a person grabs SCP-XXXX, they will get the sudden urge to play "Flip the Coin." When they find another person to play "Flip the Coin" with, they will attach a small bet to the flip, agree on a flipper, call a side, then flip SCP-XXXX. If more than two people are in a vicinity of SCP-XXXX at once, they will fight over who will play with it, often going to the extent of attacking other people until their are only two people left.When SCP-XXXX has landed and one person has won, the bet will be carried out instantaneously, adding or removing objects from the world, forcing someone to do something against their will, or changing history. The players will continue playing, increasing the bets every time. Both players will ignore all outside stimuli unless it stops the game, in which they will become aggressive, the severity of it depending on the amount of time they have been playing the game. Removing SCP-XXXX from them will cause extreme violence until they get it back. Moving it farther from 20 meters from both players will have them faint for a period between five seconds to ten minutes depending on the amount of the time they have been playing. When they wake up, they remember playing the game but not of any of the "winnings" either of them won and will say that it was a harmless game. Over a time of between 30 minutes to an hour 10 minutes to 30 minutes a minute to 10 minutes, the bets get more and more extravagant and violent, with players emptying bank accounts, raping strangers, and/or murdering one or more people or major events in history changing that lead to more horrific events occurring. The players will play until one of them is dead or gone, then the surviving one will try to find a new player to play with. These players will become hyper aggressive if someone refuses to play, mostly attacking the person until they are either dead or have left eyesight. Trying to take away SCP-XXXX at this time leads to them attacking violently, even when they are extremely injured.

SCP-XXXX was brought to the attention of SCP Foundation when the local police of [REDACTED] found two people playing flip the coin with SCP-XXXX in a room full of corpses and cash. The SCP Foundation was notified and it was safely contained

Addendum: After incident [REDACTED], SCP-XXXX is to be reclassified as an euclid and to be moved to a more secure containment zone. Test have shown that SCP-XXXX has somehow gained a psychic field that affects anyone in a five meter radius. Further testing required.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX is to be put in a larger containment zone after it was noted that its zone of affection has grow substantially. Test have now shown that thick concrete walls and steel doors dampen it's effect substantially. Researchers are asked to take caution walking near the containment cell of SCP-XXXX and imminently alert any Class-C or higher researcher if they feel any urge to pick up SCP-XXXX

Addendum: After incident 42, SCP-XXXX is to be reclassified as Keter, put in a bullet proof glass box, be fitted with a tracking device, and be put under constant surveillance. SCP-XXXX has gained to ability to teleport to a random location on earth as long as there's a person within it's affection zone, which has grown an extra meter since last tested. All documents are now reclassified as Level 3 from Level 2. Thick enough concrete and steel still dampen SCP-XXXX effects greatly, but less than previous test

Addendum: The tracker on SCP-XXXX must be regularly replaced once a month once a week since SCP-XXXX has gained the ability to short circuit trackers over long periods of time. The Affection zone of SCP-XXXX has grown three more meters since last tested. It appears that SCP-XXXX is adapting to whatever security measures we put on it. It doesn't need to be said why this is extremely dangerous based on its original anomalous properties. A request to start attempts to neutralize SCP-XXXX has be submitted to O5 command for review.
