Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX will be contained in a slim room with enough water for the specimen. No opening bigger than the observed escape capabilities of SCP-XXXX (10 centimeters) will be issued, other than a hatch at the top of the room with an additional safety door from testing and feeding. The safety door must not be opened unless the hatch is locked and secure. The room will be monitored with video cameras and one (1) level 2 personnel at any given time.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a carnivorous aquatic organism recovered in ████████, measuring 2.25 meters in length and 0.60 meters in width.
SCP-XXXX has a head approximately 35 centimeters in length with 7 eyes and sharp dentures directing outwards. 7 spheres appear to float inside its mouth; SCP-XXXX uses its effects as the main way of hunting. (See illustration #1)

Direct visual effects of the spheres:

• Insanity
• Self-Harm
• Disorientation
• Hallucinations
• Short term memory loss

Direct auditory effects of the spheres:

• Paranoia
• Strong emotional response
• Short term memory loss

Effects caused by the spheres are treatable if taken away from direct contact with SCP-XXXX within moderate time.

SCP-XXXX is a quadrupedal organism with swimming as its main way of transport, although shown to be able to survive several hours on dry land. Hands have five fingers, with two thumb-like fingers each. A needle-like extremity is situated in its wrist and is the specimen's secondary way of hunting, pumping venom once it's penetrated its prey. (See illustration #2)

Effects of SCP-XXXX venom:

• Partial loss of motor skills
• Paralysis (under extreme cases)

Any blood or flesh sample taken from SCP-XXXX immediately turns to dust. Because of this, we have no real way to track down the origin or age of SCP-XXXX

Test A-XX/XX/20XX

Test taken place in Site-45

Subject:

• Class D, ████████ prisoner, charges for assault

Procedure:
SCP-XXXX will be rendered unconscious with anesthetic gas. When safe, the subject will be lowered onto the room inside a bulletproof glass box with a set of UV light blocking sunglasses. The subject will have no knowledge of the nature of SCP-XXXX and will be asked of the immediate effects the spheres have on the subject’s senses. This test will be executed by Dr. ████████, from now referred to as Dr.1, and Dr. ████████ as a witness.

Test Log:

Dr.1: Subject, please put on the glasses and, when SCP-XXXX wakes up, look inside its mouth.

[Subject complies]

Dr.1: What is happening to you right now?

Results:
The subject is in intensive care and does not seem to remember its encounter with SCP-XXXX.

Analysis:
The UV light doesn't look like it's the answer to our problems. The only way we've found to look at the spheres is from a camera lens. Further visual testing is required.

Test B-XX/XX/20XX

Test taken place in Site-45

Subject:

• Class D, ████████ prisoner, charges for robbery on two counts
• Class D, ████████ prisoner, charges for assault on three counts and resisting arrest

Procedure:
SCP-XXXX will be rendered unconscious with anesthetic gas. When safe, two subjects will be lowered onto the room inside a bulletproof glass box. Subject 1 will have a sound blocking headset playing white noise and directions from the researchers and will be instructed to look at the specimen's mouth. Subject 2 will not have a headset and will be instructed to close its eyes and not to open them under any circumstance; to ensure compliance the subject has been told that failure to comply shall result in termination. The subjects will have no knowledge of the nature of SCP-XXXX and will be asked of the immediate effects the spheres have on the subject’s senses. This test will be executed by Dr. ████████, from now referred to as Dr.1, and Dr. ████████ as a witness.

Test Log:

Dr.1: Subject 1, please put on your headset and, when SCP-XXXX wakes up, look inside its mouth.

Dr.1: Describe what's happening.

Subject 1: There's stars, human-like figures, and fishes; maybe hundreds of them. They're killing each other. They're- they're coming for me now.

[Subject 1 is now sporadically swatting around its body]

Dr.1: Subject 2, try to calm down Subject 1 before it gets hurt, and keep your eyes closed.

[Subject 2 tries to comply but has a sudden anger burst and strikes subject 1]

[Subject 1 stop swatting and is now staring directly at subject 2]

Dr.1: Subject 1? Subject 2, why did you hit subject 1?

Results:
Subject 1 and subject 2 were terminated during the test and subsequently fed to SCP-XXXX

Analysis:
In the record, it seemed like subjects 1 and 2 were close, relationship-wise (not specified), which makes it quite compelling on why subject 1 would attack subject 2 without remorse.
Furthermore, the aggressive response and immediate memory loss of subject 2 is proof that visual contact is not the only way for SCP-XXXX to affect its victims. Reinforced steel is suggested for the safety of the subjects on further testing.

+ Test C

Test C-XX/XX/20XX

Test taken place in Site-45

Subject:

• Class D, ████████ prisoner, charges for robbery

Procedures:
SCP-XXXX will be rendered unconscious with anesthetic gas. When safe, the subject will be lowered onto the room inside a bulletproof glass box inside a steel cage with blindfolds and sound blocking headset playing white noise and directions from the researchers. The subject will have no knowledge of the nature of SCP-XXXX and will be asked of the immediate effects the SCP-XXXX has on its senses. This test will be executed by Dr. ████████, from now referred to as Dr.1, and Dr. ████████ as a witness.

Test Log:

Dr.1: Subject, please put on your headset and blindfold.

[Subject complies]

Subject: What is that? Oh god…

Dr.1: Do not take any protection off or it will be cause enough for termination on grounds of noncompliance.

[SCP-XXXX grabs the metal bars and bends them by pulling]

Dr.1: Activate anesthetic gas.

[SCP-XXXX breaks glass]
[SCP-XXXX impales subject with needle-like extremity]
[Test ended]

Results:
The subject was paralyzed for five (5) hours and twenty-eight (28) minutes. After this time, the subject seemed to go back to normality and no noticeable effects from the venom were observed. Further observation of the subject is recommended.

Analysis:
The events transpired today have taught us enough for the moment. The strength of SCP-XXXX has exceeded our expectations with the bending of our reinforced steel bars. The venom was powerful, even though a seemingly small amount was administered the subject was paralyzed for a relatively long time.

A very important note about this encounter is that the venom seemed to be able to survive out of the specimen's body, contrary to everything else we've tried to extract of SCP-XXXX. Testing of venom for future tactical weapons with this venom is suggested.

Note: SCP-XXXX is moved to Area-179 for containment until further testing is requested.
