Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX's stationary nature requires containment procedures directed at preventing the entrance of non-foundation personnel as opposed to conatinment of the anomaly itself. SCP-XXXX's site is maintained within a 40' x 40' concrete garage constructed around the anomaly. A circular perimeter fence surrounding the anomaly is to be maintain at a 2 kilometer radius from the constructed housing. Any breach of the perimeter is to be responded to by assigned security personnel. Use of lethal force is only permitted upon a breach of the constructed housing by unauthorized personnel. Experimentation with the anomaly is restricted to researchers with level 2 clearance and above and will proceed for intervals no longer that 4 hours.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an M4A3E8 Sherman tank located in the [REDACTED] valley of eastern Germany. It show damage consistent with heavy combat and damages caused by environment based erosion. The turret and armament of the vehicle, as wells as fragments of varying sizes, lay scattered around the main body of the vehicle in a 15 foot radius. This damage has been concluded to have been caused by the accidental ignition of the 76 millimeter ammunition once held withing the vehicle. Partially visible on the left side of the hull, is the moniker Blue Dastardly.
Upon initial observation of SCP-XXXX, muted sounds can be heard originating from the inside of the vehicle. These include, sounds consistent with:
- A Air-cooled 9-cylinder radial piston, Wright R-975 Whirlwind engine.
- Voices that have be assigned to multiple individuals believed to be its crew. Despite the effort of Foundation linguist, comprehension of these voices from outside the anomaly have proven unsuccessful.
- Various sounds of armed conflict including what is assumed to be the firing of the main armament and the impact of multiple different hostile ammunitions.
All parts of SCP-XXXX are firmly anchored to their location and all attempts to relocated both the scattered debris of SCP-XXXX and the hull of the anomaly have been met with zero success. This properties is only manifested in regards to the anomalys physical position. All functional moving parts of the vehicle have free range of motion, limited only by the damage it has sustained.
Once seated in the remains of the bow gunner position of SCP-XXXX, an individual will begin to live the experiences of a young american soldier, identified as Julien Carver. Each time, the experience begins on the date of July 10th, 1943 with the invasion of Sicily. From there, the individual experiences the progression of the crew of SCP-XXXX through the eyes of Carver, ending with the destruction of SCP-XXXX and the death of its crew on May 19th, 1945. Individuals inside the anomaly have no conscious awareness of present day during the experience and require removal from the vehicle by outside personnel. Confusion upon exiting the vehicles is common and has ranged from moderate disorientation to a complete destruction and replacement of the original personality with that of Carver when exposed to the memory of his death.
Timeline of Major Events Experienced in SCP-XXXX
7/10/1943: SCP-XXXX-2's initial deployment with the 2nd Armored Division in support
of the 1st Infantry Division at the Battle of Gela. First experience of active combat.8/21/1943: Returned to England with the 2nd Division in preparation for the invasion of
Normandy.
7/9/1944: Landed on Omaha beach and proceeded to participate in Operation Cobra.7/21/1944 The death of driver Charles Murdock to shrapnel from a ricocheted Panzer
Faust. SCP-XXXX-2 assumed driving responsibilities for the remainder of the conflict.
Relieved by the introduction of new driver, Alex Kennedy.4/29/1945 Division halted at the Elbe river. SCP-XXXX-2's company given order to move
north and secure the [REDACTED] valley.5/17/1945 Remnants of company reach intended destination after encountering German
resistance. Take up defensive positions at the western entrance of the valley.5/19/1945 Encounter German tank group and engage in close quarters combat. Heavy rain obscures vision and seems to prevent radio contact between tanks. SCP-XXXX appears to have been struck on the frontal armor by a 75 millimeter round tank round, leading to an ignition of ammo storage and death of the crew.
Individuals within SCP-XXXX experience these memories at an accelerated pace relative to the present flow of time. Testing has shown that the combined experiences of Carver have the ability to be experienced between 53 an 57 hours. Individuals reentering the vehicle have verified that the memories begin at the moment they had been interrupted, continuing on until the destruction of the vehicle and death of its crew. The memories have shown no signs of deterioration shown in individuals and have been accurately recalled for months after exposure (based on cross examination between subjects).
Individuals subjected to the entire anomaly have proved uncooperative with Foundation personnel. This has made interviews ineffective in terms of information gathering. In order to obtain the history of Carver in the time prior to his death, Dr. Chaffee interviewed D-XXXXX under the guise of a U.S. Army officer.

However, in order to accurately record and preserve this information, we need you to speak calmly, clearly, and from the beginning. Only then can we determine in which direction we wish to proceed. Do you understand?
