Page Type: SCP Article
Genre (Optional): Drama
Page Layout (Optional): Item, object class and Special Containment Procedures will follow standard layout. The description will be broken up by test logs, resource requests, etc. and monthly reports by the Jr. Scientist to the site supervisor. Recovered journal entries from the Sr. Scientist will also be provided as retroactive attachments to each monthly report.
Elevator Pitch: The Foundation is called to a location of a Sarkic cult attack when after neutralizing the threat, all that remains of the location is SCP-XXXX. The object appears to be an oversized dual-drum grinder, akin to a metal scraper. The construction is inline with that of items recovered related to The Broken God however, there are hallmarks of all three factions' work. A physical anomaly is a small crude metal box on the support frame with a stake driven through it with Sarkic symbology. The object is moved to a secure site where a Foundation Sr. and Jr. scientists start testing for the object's purpose. Through testing the object, the Sr. Scientist grows more frustrated as the anomaly was a clear attempt to stop some part of the object. This comes to a head when the Sr. scientist is involved in an incident with consequences from his actions. The Sr. scientist ultimately understands why the unknown members of each faction came together. He sets off on one last test that irrevocably changes him and gives the true nature of the object, which can be a game changer in Foundation containment.
Central Narrative: The central narrative is that of the Sr. scientist and his downward spiral from being a clean, thorough, highly organized person to bordering on complete madness by the incident. This is intended to mirror man’s fall from intelligence and reverting back to one’s primitive self just like the struggle between The Church and Sarkicism. This is also represented by stake through the crude metal box on the object itself. The incident with the following revelations is intended to show man’s overcoming of that primitive nature and (in the Sr. Scientist’s case) becoming a Herald to The Broken God.
Hook/Attention-Grabber: It would add a potential new avenue of looking at the three factions. The path the unknown members took to come together to “defragment” their individual faction’s knowledge is seen as a parallel to that of bringing the individual pieces of The Broken God back together. Also, once all is known at the end the object possibly becomes a new containment tool for the Foundation.

Page Layout (Optional): The description will be broken up by test logs, resource requests, monthly reports, etc. Journal entries from the Sr. Scientist will also be retroactively attached.
Elevator Pitch:
An object is recovered by The Foundation from a recent attack on followers of The Broken God by the Sarkic cult. The object appears to be a car sized dual-drum grinder, akin to a metal shredder. The construction is inline with mechanisms recovered from the three factions of The Broken God with a crude device with Sarkic symbology on one side.
A two man team of a Sr. and Jr. Scientists start unlocking the secrets of the object. First figuring out how to activate it, then discovering how it can “decompile” any item with specific marks. The crude device becomes a source of tension and conflict for the Sr. Scientist as he suspects the device is covering up the “compiler” side. This leads to an incident.
Through recounting the incident, he figures out why the members that made the object did it, calling it “The Great Defragmentation.” Through his last test he enters the object itself and is granted visions from eons ago and is granted a “gift” from The Broken God itself, also becoming it’s Herald. The now Herald (SCP-XXXX-A) works with The Foundation to establish a new site that can use the object (known as The Mouth of The Broken God) to contain other SCPs and work on the limited possibility of countering SCP-610.
Central Narrative:
- The Sr. scientist's downward spiral of being a highly organized scientist to bordering on madness is a conflict that symbolizes the struggle for achieving individualistic intelligence vs. giving into primitive/tribal nature.
- The Sr. scientist compares his downward spiral to the fragmenting of The Church of The Broken God.
- The members that came together despite their factionalism for a higher intellectual calling (The Great Defragmentation) knew all factions must come back together. To “defragment” to a new path. This is a direct parallel to bringing the parts of their God back together - one path, one God.
Hook/Attention-Grabber: The object being able to decompile and compile any safely marked item is used by The Foundation in containing SCPs. The Herald aids The Foundation as The Mouth's caretaker, researching other believed Broken God parts and informs The Church of the new path to their ultimate goal.
Additional Notes: Not at this time.

Page Layout (Optional): Standard layout. Will have test entries, site director communications, and breach report at the end. Addendums from the lead scientist will be attached, after said breach.
Elevator Pitch:
An object of unknown origin is intercepted and recovered by the Foundation. The object appears to be a car sized dual-drum grinder, akin to a metal shredder. The construction is inline with mechanisms recovered from the Broken God.
A lead scientist with the Foundation starts researching the object. As he gets further into the mystery of the object, he begins to have visions during his sleep. They start off crude, almost abstract in nature. However, over time they refine themselves. They begin to feel more personal and make the scientist question his duty to the Foundation and the pull of a higher calling with the Church.
After a fateful last vision where some of his own early history is revealed - mainly his orphaning and how him joining the Church was set forth. A week later a successful containment breach sees him and the object gone. An anomalous audio signal was sent at the same time a swell. A letter is left behind stating he has been chosen to be the Herald to the Broken God. The anomalous audio is decoded after months which turned out to be a global signal to other members of the Church telling them of the object (the Mouth of the Broken God) and to defragment back to one path.
Central Narrative:
- The conflict of the lead scientist between duty to the Foundation and the calling of higher knowledge through the object/the Church/The Broken God.
- The initial knowledge of his parents and him being an orphan pushing him to be better than to submit to the visions (being a restraint.) To get turned on its head when the fate of his parents and why they left him is revealed in the last vision (being a release.)
Hook/Attention-Grabber:
Another piece of the Broken God is found. It has created a Herald for itself, which on face value is purposed with bringing the factions back together - one path, one God. The object’s abilities, still mostly unknown, makes it a high priority to recapture along with the Herald by the Foundation. On top of the higher threat level a united Church could pose if all folded back into one.

Plot Bullet:
- The researcher will have BTE (Behind the Ear) hearing aids. This is for narrative as well as story reasons. (Inspired by Uncle Nicolini feedback)
- After the preliminary studying of the object is completed (for narrative as well as information for basic description of said SCP) the visions will start at “X” frequency. They will be just enough to get a point across but not be so detailed to not leave anything to wonder about. (Taken from Mars feedback)
- The visions trigger an update to the containment procedure, which mandates any personnel that start having visions after interacting with the object be monitored by a site therapist to determine if safe to continue working.
- Through the observation sessions, which are documented (better than just random journals) we get to explore each vision. The visions would be of key people in his life and how he feels about them, and their sudden abandonment of him. This feeds the narrative of him being a strong willed individual. Also a supporter of the Foundation because it has given him a feeling of belonging/acceptance. (Taken from Riemann feedback through IRC)
- After an incident in which an anti-static band falls off (part of updated containment procedure) while studying the object, he is jolted with a high voltage discharge knocking him out. He awakens “X” days later in a containment cell with the therapist explaining why. It involves the BTE…or what happened to them via the incident.
- His first regular sleep after awakening from the incident is one last vision but one that explains why the different people in his life abandoned him and are corrected. It turns out to be quite the opposite. This is where the Broken God makes it’s play for him to join and become it’s herald.
- When he awakens, in a final, remorseful act he writes down a letter to the site director. Correcting the past relationships and what was really going on with them. He thanks the Foundation for truly being there for him but a higher calling he can not deny awaits him.
- An incident report (transcribed from site video footage) is a record of what transpires next and how he manages to breach containment and escape with the object.
- An anomalous audio signal is heard a month later, with its epicenter around the central Mediterranian area. After decoding, it's a calling home of the all factions of the Church, to unify and announce himself as the one who speaks for the Broken God
