Item #: SCP-4858
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP=4858 must be allowed to freely roam whatever site it is being held in at all times. Confining SCP-4858 makes it angry, claustrophobic, and extremely lonely.
SCP-4858 is also to be watched at all times. If personnel do not have eyes on SCP-4858, it is to be located in a room under video surveillance. Said room under video surveillance should be, under no circumstances, threatening in any way to SCP-4858.
On another note, SCP-4858 should be fed three (3) times daily, at the same time as usual breakfast, lunch, and dinner would commence. SCP-4858 should also not see personnel eating on site. If it spots personnel eating, said personnel is required to give SCP-4858 half of what they're eating, no matter what. SCP-3858 should also be given cat toys, accessories, and care products.
Description:
SCP-4858 takes the form of a female calico cat. If angered, SCP-4858 will either act like any angry cat would, or turn into a menacing creature. However, if treated like a normal cat, SCP-4858 will be friendly and cuddly.
SCP-4858 has been given the nickname 'Hairball', and even has a small, white plastic collar stating that name. SCP-4858 will not respond to anything but Hairball (Exceptions: Kitty kitty, come here kitty, who's a good kitty?). SCP-4858 also gets along easily with any other cat-like creatures, and some dogs. However if the other creature is hostile, SCP will get angry and hiss at them.
SCP-4858 spends a lot of it's time relaxing, often just outside containment cells. It can also be seen sometimes meowing through the doors, as if to socialize itself with the other SCPs on site.
The anomalies that SCP-4858 has are, from most to least commonly seen, shapeshifting, telepathy, and flight. SCP-4858 doesn't like to fly that often and would prefer turning into a bird to fly, but in times when it needs a quick getaway it won't hesitate to speed off into the air. SCP-4858 can also speak to anyone it forms a sort of friendship with (playing together an hour a day, for about two days should do the trick).
The most common thing SCP-4858 can be seen doing is shapeshifting. When playing, SCP-4858 often turns into other animals to play with. SCP-4858 will also never intentionally harm any living thing unless they do it harm.
Test A - 14/██/██
Subject: Dr. ███████
Procedure: Dr. ███████ was put in the same room as SCP-4858. Before either of them were introduced to the room, it was filled with toys, and a small bag of treats to one side of the room. Dr. ████████ was then told to play with SCP-4858 for an hour, and write down whatever SCP-4858 told him during the test.
Results: Dr. ███████ had no issue in playing with SCP-4858. Nothing was said to him during the test. SCP-4858 spent the entire time having fun with him as an average over-friendly cat would.
Analysis: Not sure if SCP-4858 simply wasn't friendly enough with Dr. ███████ yet or if it was because of the video surveillance. Further tests will have to be conducted in the future. Decided to pair SCP-4858 with Dr. ███████ for the time being, he is now SCP-4858's personal caretaker.
