DrEOP

As the door began to creak open a powerful light burned out from it, and white void laid within. Clenching my fists I walked forward. This was it, what my 7 college years led up to, I got accepted into a government research lab and I didn't even have to apply. I fought the smirk but it wouldn't go away, "I must be pretty special" I thought to myself approaching the desk filled with a new energy. The secretary looked up as I slammed down my clearance. He looked at me and asked, "If you are a new researcher please head to Orientation." then looked back down

I cleared my throat while grabbing my papers and began to ask, "Wh-"

He looked back up, "Through Gate H down the hall to the left three doors down. Turn off your phone and head there immediately." He turned back to his desk and resumed his work. I thank him and turn my head left looking for the sign. By the time my eyes go over his desk again a finger points off into the distant right. I follow it to a sign reading 'Gate H' and star walking over towards it. "holy shit." I muttered as I approached the gargantuan steel doors. They were the only thing in the room that wasn't a sterile white, instead being a shiny gray. A guard similar to the one at the checkpoint looked on vigilantly beside the gate. "Good morning Sir," he said as I walked pass without making eye contact and in the most monotone of voices. I decided not to return his greeting and continued on my mission.

"Four down the left hall, four down the left hall" I said to myself in the lonely white corridor. I had arrived. Above the door there was label. I squinted to read 'Dr. Brights office' written in a truly awful font. From what the secretary said he made it seem like it would take place in an auditorium, but I was seeing a Doctor. I searched for a door knob only to find none, the door looked like that of an elevator with a credit card slide on the side. I produce a card from my wallet and swipe my card through it. The slide blinks red and a robotic voice says, "Access denied."

"Ok that was a dumb Idea, maybe I have a card in my envelope," I thought as I started to search through it. I produced a card reading level one clearance. I slide it through the thing again before being greeted by the robot again, "Access denied." I attempted one more time and, "Access denied." Fuck it I'll just knock. I Tap my knuckles against the cold steel door and wait. Several minutes later a strange looking man with an amulet opened the door attempting to catch his breath, he was clothed in a ripped and dirty lab coat, his hair very messy, drowning in his own sweat, and undershirt stained with blood. "I was told to report here for orientation."

The man looks at me and looks a bit surprised, "Are you sure, I wasn't informed you would be here much less about any orientation."

"The secretary told me this was the room," I knew now I almost definitely messed up his directions.

He stroked his beard, "Ah, well I guess Fletcher would know better than I, alright I'll show you around. Call me Bright, Dr. Bright" He stepped inside and waved me in. I was greeted with a messy office, papers lined the floors, and the wall was painted with post its. I don't even want to mention the bear bleeding out on the floor. "It's dangerous to go alone, take this" he forced a pistol into my hand.

"There are guards everywhere, why do I need a weapon as well?" I asked holding the weapon by the barrel not wanting to accidentally shoot.

"Ha you think you're safe, IGNORANT FOOL! Did no one even tell you what this facility is about?" His tone shifts were quite jarring but I responded

"No, all they told me was a location a salary and a position." I then handed him my papers.

"There is no need for paperwork here, the 05 will make you do plenty later, allow me to tell you what the foundation does. The SCP foundation is a secret spy agency that captures monsters and conducts mad science upon them to further technology and then burns them once they become useless." He waves his hands around as he tells his story. "Hold on not only are there monsters, but magic, psychics, aliens, and more!" He laughed as he spoke his crazy lies.

"So sounds pretty cool" I decided to feed into it, surely he'd tell me where I'm supposed to go after he's done joking around, "so what about god, is he here." I regret asking as he responds

"We do actually, 343 if my memory serves me."

"You know what I want to see one of these monsters, you've piqued my interest." His smile brightens and he moves to his filling cabinet. He scours through it at a quick pace before pulling out a folder marked 096. He handed the folder to me and I opened it. A thin man with large arms greeted me, he was hunched over and his face obscured. I flip the page and another image of this thing greeted me, it was ripping one of the guards from here in half. "So what is this thing, and what does its face look like?"
