Special Containment Procedures: Knowledge of SCP-???? is restricted to Level 4 and 5 Personnel. Upon Its discovery on [Date Expunged] at Site 496A, all SCP's not classified as Safe were moved off site and research projects were restricted to Level 2 and below. Site 496A's primary function has shifted to observation and semi-containment of SCP-????. Male employees who make physical contact with SCP-???? report feeling mild nausea for 3-5 days and are advised to be aware of their proximity to SCP-???? to avoid this. Foundation employees unaware of SCP-????'s true nature found exhibiting inappropriate behavior towards SCP-???? will be subject to standard Human Resources discipline up to and including termination of employment and entry into Dr. Novando's test subject group.

Description: SCP-???? assumes the form of a female Level 2 Research Assistant at Site 496A. Though physical characteristics vary, SCP-????'s Foundation ID always display's the name Sarah Masters and caries standard Level 2 Research Assistant access. It is currently unknown how SCP-???? obtained this ID, or how the ID and access levels update with changes to Its appearance or the site. SCP-????'s demeanor is that of a kind and friendly woman, and has been noted by multiple Project Directors to be a diligent worker and able assistant, if clumsy on occasion. [See Addendum 0199]. It is currently unknown how SCP-???? is assigned to Research Projects or Foundation Payroll, It's name simply appearing on ████, paper logs, or in the current database system used on site.

Voluntary medical examinations of SCP-???? have found It accurately mimics internal female anatomy and functions, including a menstrual cycle. It's bodily structure and fluids contain no observable genetic material, and are made of an as of yet unknown substance. The mimicry of these materials is accurate enough that all transfusions or transplants into human hosts have been accepted with no observable adverse side effects, provided the subject is female. SCP-???? has two observed behavioral states, Dormant and Active, and the pattern has remained consistent since first observed on [Date Expunged]. Attempts to contain SCP-???? during either observed state have resulted in unexplained occurrences at Site 496A:

  • Hardware, software, and advanced system failure.
  • Plumbing issues.
  • Food stored on site rotting or spoiling regardless of storage method.
  • Unidentified illness with symptoms similar to mononucleosis spreading through staff.
  • Research projects, regardless of simplicity, returning skewed results.

NOTE: Details of the longer it's body is restrained, the more the influence spreads to other sites/escalates.

Dormant State: SCP-???? will arrive at Site 496A at 0900 and work until 1800, with an hour lunch break at varying times. SCP-???? often eats in the site cafeteria with the staff of the research project It is assigned to, though It has been observed to bring a prepared lunch on occasion, noting "I finally dragged my ass out of bed early enough to make something." It is currently unknown where SCP-???? goes after leaving Site 496A while in its Dormant state. If monitored in any way, it will move to a public establishment and remain there until monitoring ceases or It returns to Site 496A for work.

Active State: SCP-????'s Active state occurs when It enters into a romantic relationship with a
female Foundation employee, hereafter referred to as Targets. SCP-????'s Targets have no observable pattern, with the only common links being their sex, homosexuality, and employment within the Foundation. Targets have ranged from Level 0 to Level 4 personnel, and only one known Target, Site 496A Senior Project Director Dr. Beverly Novos, [Name displayed at personnel's request and approved by O5 Council] appears to have been aware of SCP-????'s true nature. Targets have been tested for signs of hypnotism, amnestics, memetics, and all other known methods of psycho and social alteration but none have been found.

SCP-????, while notably more comfortable with female employees, [See Addendum 0269] has never been observed as the initiator of romantic involvement. SCP-???? appears to have an unknown criteria, and is known to rebuff interested, unaware employees, [See Addendums ██, ██, ██, ██, ██, and ██] and all employees who were part of Dr. Stevenson, Dr. Braid, Dr. ████, Dr. Nath, Dr. ████, and Senior Project Director Dr. Beverly Novos' test groups attempting to manufacture an Active state in SCP-????. When questioned on Its rejections, SCP-???? consistently replies: "They weren't my type."

When a Target has initiated a relationship, SCP-???? shifts to Its Active state and will alter Its form to appear to age at a normal human rate. It begins renting an apartment in the nearby town, and will immediately return there when not at Site 496A if monitored by any means. The relationship proceeds in a similar structure to most. Gifts, subtle romantic gestures, dating, and clandestine moments of intimacy have been observed. Arguments, fights, and occasional short-term desistance of these relationships are known to occur, but have always resumed. If SCP-???? and the Target begin cohabiting, this location will become SCP-????'s return point if monitored. Variations in Target's culture, age, and temperament alter the structure of these relationships, but without exception they persist until the Target's death. Despite intensive investigation, SCP-???? has never been observed to cause the death of any of Its Targets. Most notable are Research Librarian Julia Sark, Dr. ████, Dr. Evelyn Camden, ████, and Senior Project Director Dr. Beverly Novos who all expired of old age. [See Interview 0188 attached below.] Once a Target is deceased, SCP-???? appears to "mourn" their passing [Note: Attempt to reclassify this "Mourning" phase as a 3rd state of SCP-???? by Dr. Novos rejected by O5 Council.] for a period of exactly 27 days. It has been noted by multiple Project Directors that SCP-????'s productivity noticeably decreases during this time, and has been discovered weeping in the women's lavatory by numerous employees. Once 27 days have passed, SCP-???? announces It is resigning from Site 496A due to stress, or will no longer be collecting Its pension if It reached retirement age. All attempts to monitor SCP-???? during this time have failed. After a period of exactly 465 days, SCP-???? will return to Site 496A with a new physical appearance to repeat the cycle.

SCP-????'s purpose and intentions remain unknown despite ███ years of observation. Due to SCP-????'s non-violent nature, function as a capable Research Assistant contributing to the progress of the Foundation, and for preventing the escape of SCP-████; further containment is deemed unnecessary by O5 Council.
