Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a cubic opaque acrylic box exactly 15.1 centimeters in interior diameter with wall thickness of 3 centimeters. The Box is to be securely anchored to the ground.
The opaque acrylic containment box is to be regularly checked for damage, fracturing, and other evidence of internally applied pressure due to dimensional changes in the item. If the containment box is damaged, the cause of damage is to be investigated, and a new box is to be constructed if necessary.
Staff assigned to SCP-XXXX in any capacity must score higher than 60 points on a standard mental robusticity test. Staff are only permitted to handle SCP-XXXX if they score higher than 85 points on the same standard mental robusticity test. Staff are not to be exposed to SCP-XXXX.
Addition: Experiments are to only be carried out by D-Class equipped with bomb collars.
In the event of a containment breach: all involved D-Class are to be immediately terminated. Additionally, Special Containment Procedures that require physical handling of the item are to be carried out with D-Class.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 4-dimensional cube, known as a 'Hyper-Cube' or a 'Tesseract' made of a partially reflective, blue, unknown metal. Individuals who view the item in motion often do not have the mental capacity to conceptualize it, losing mental stability as a result. This is a side effect of the extra-dimensional nature of the item and is not a separate anomalous property the item possesses. All individuals are able to view the object with no ill-effects, provided the item remains at rest.
When unsupported, SCP-XXXX will remain suspended in its previous position2This makes the item 'hover' in the air. When forces (excluding gravity) apply more than 10 newtons of force to the item, it loses this property until the force is removed. The item appears to also naturally rotate in the hypothesized W axis at exactly one full (360 degrees) rotation a minute. This rotation can be stopped with minimal force.
SCP-XXXX reflects blue light3 in an anomalous direction, not at all correlating with the angle of which blue light rays hit the object. This causes blue light to scatter randomly.
Exposure Log:
Foreword: the following are notable recorded instances of psychological damage inflicted on individuals due to exposure to SCP-XXXX.
Subject: Field Agent Lawrence.
Context: Subject involved in the initial discovery of SCP-XXXX. Foundation became aware of the item on [REDACTED] and sent the subject for preliminary analysis.
Event: Subject viewed SCP-XXXX exhibiting W axis rotation.
Symptoms: Subject reduced to a catatonic vegetate state for █ days, before regaining consciousness. Subject now has severe PTSD and is schizophrenic.
Subject: D-94256
Context: Testing effects of exposure to SCP-XXXX. At this point, the actual cause of the psychological damage to individuals was thought to be a primary anomalous property of the object.
Event: SCP-XXXX was suspended in the air of its previous containment unit. Subject viewed SCP-XXXX exhibiting W axis rotation.
Symptoms: Subject became unresponsive to staff, the subject remained in this state until their termination.
Subject: Dr. G█████
Context: Accidental exposure during SCP-XXXX's transfer from Site-19 to Site-27.
Event: SCP-XXXX was not properly secured in its shipping container, and impacted against the interior wall of said container, Subject went to investigate the sound of the impact. [REDACTED]
Symptoms: [REDACTED]. Refer to [REDACTED]. Incident has been designated: "Exodia 1".
Note: an uncensored version of the previous file is available, level 4 personnel please refer to Addendum SCP-XXXX-4.
Addendum SCP-XXXX-1: On [REDACTED], a standard blue light reflection test resulted in SCP-XXXX reflecting a pattern shaped like a letter W, onto the wall of its containment chamber. Initial speculations suggested that this was a reference to the 'W' axis researchers used to describe four-dimensional movement.
However, subsequent tests revealed that with the correct direction and intensity of light applied to the object; while it underwent 'W' axis rotation, allowed a series of words to be revealed.
Words displayed are as follows:
We - See - You. - Do - You - See - Us - ?
Prove - It - And - Enlightenment - Shall - Be - Yours.
Find - The - Pieces - Show - Your - Worth.
This - Is - Your - Task. - Your - Mission.
Addendum SCP-XXXX-2: After incident Exodia 1, a recreation attempt was proposed by Dr. F███ and authorized by [REDACTED]. The following is a log of the attempts to do this.
Experiment Log SCP-XXXX-1:
Attempts 1 and 2 have been redacted.
Attempt-3
Subject: D-42584, 3 accounts of Forced Entry and Assault with the intention to rob.
Method: [REDACTED] while subjects right index finger was rotated until breakage.
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject terminated.
Attempt-4
Subject: D-51081, 5 accounts of Mayhem and robbery.
Method: [REDACTED] while the subject was administered with a hallucinogen while subjects hand [REDACTED].
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject terminated.
Attempt-5
Subject: D-62413, 7 accounts of High Treason and Espionage.
Method: [REDACTED] subject was administered with [REDACTED] to induce pain.
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject terminated.
Note from Dr. F███: The problem with these D-Class is that they are just too stupid. Going insane at the slightest notion of their reality being thrown on its head. We should evaluate our D-Class for mental robusticity in the future.
Attempt-6
Subject: D-62413, Manslaughter, and Arson. 48 points for mental robusticity.
Method: Subject exposed to [REDACTED] while [REDACTED] bones were shattered.
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject terminated.
Attempt-7
Subject: D-55692, 4 accounts of Murder. 66 points for mental robusticity.
Method: Subject [REDACTED] hydrochloric acid [REDACTED] bones [REDACTED].
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject terminated.
Note from Dr. F███: We just aren't getting any results. We will begin to experiment with personnel. Dr. G█████ disagrees with the whole idea, just cause he had one bad experience. Pathetic.
Attempts 8, 9 and 10 have been expunged.
Note from Dr. F███: Personnel are refusing to participate in testing, we need to start threatening them with a demotion. Tell Dr. G█████ to stop yelling at me that we can't demote them. Of course we can't you moron, but they don't know that.
Attempt-11
Subject: Researcher Nifah. 57 points for mental robusticity.
Method: Subject [REDACTED] to induce pain [REDACTED] bones dissolved [REDACTED] to insight emotional stress.
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject admitted to the psychiatric ward.
Attempt-12 has been expunged.
Note from Dr. F███: Dr. G█████ told me I went too far with the last test. How? This is the first sign of progress for [Redacted], and you want to stop now? Anyway. I've ordered Dr. G█████ off the research team.
Attempt-13
Subject: Researcher Stevenson. 68 points for mental robusticity.
Method: Subject exposed to SCP-XXXX [EXPUNGED] destroyed.
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject admitted to the psychiatric ward.
Attempt-14
Subject: Dr. Callahan. 93 points for mental robusticity.
Method: Subject [EXPUNGED].
Results: Exodia 1 was not achieved. Subject [REDACTED] presumed KIA.
Note from Dr. F███: We are so close to success, but now the Ethics Committee is on my ass. I think we are ready.
Attempt-15
Subject: Dr. F███. [EXPUNGED].
Method: [EXPUNGED].
Results: Exodia 1 was achieved. Subject KIB (Killed In Breach). Support staff KIB. Incident has been designated: "Exodia 2"
Addendum SCP-XXXX-3: Due to the incapacitation of several critical and high-ranking support and research staff, the Exodia 1 project has been terminated indefinitely. Survivors have been administered Class-A amnestics. By suggestion of Dr. G█████, personnel were provided with cover-story: [REDACTED].
Addendum SCP-XXXX-4:
