Description: SCP-XXXX is a cedar wood canvas recovered in the presidential suite in The ████ Hotel, Tokyo. The item has no anomalous properties, other than it being the natural environment for SCP-XXXX-1 instances.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the designation for the sentient shapes that inhabit SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 are a collection of two hundred thousand individual 2D geometric shapes of radically varying color and type: including squares, triangles, pentagons, heptagons and octagons. SCP-XXXX instances typically measure between two to three micrometers across, with no restrictions or rules on color variety.
The life cycle of any individual SCP-XXXX-1 instance is as follows: An unoccupied area of SCP-XXXX-1 begins to change color, forming an Instance of SCP-XXXX within a day. SCP-XXXX-1 individuals always initially begin as triangles, gaining edges as they age. Until they become an octagon, and begin to fade. The typical life-span of a single instance is ten to twelve days.
SCP-XXXX-1 instances are capable of a form of combat against other instances where two individuals will rapidly collide with each other until one instance fades. How and why a particular instance fades in combat is unclear.
SCP-XXXX-1 are able to communicate basic and even more complex ideas, but are unable to 'speak' with each-other. Despite this, SCP-XXXX-1 instances have a perceived hierarchy, based on their individual colors and shapes. The shape of an instance denotes its age, and the color its race.
SCP-XXXX-1 individuals have organised into a complex society of racially defined nation states. Current nations include the green, blue, yellow, lime, and cyan nations.
