Special Containment Procedures: All images and transcripts of SCP-XXXX’s interior are to be expunged from the foundation data-base.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a hardback copy of Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, published in 1961 by an unknown publishing company.
SCP-XXXX is unaffected by applied physical forces, including gravity. Despite this, SCP-XXXX's material properties are identical to similar non-anomalous objects. No amount of force can move the object.
Discovery Log: SCP-XXXX
At 11:21 am on 10/4/2017, SCP-XXXX was discovered in the centre of an unoccupied heavy containment cell.
Incident Report: SCP-XXXX-I1
After preliminary tests, consensus was that SCP-XXXX possessed thermodynamic anomalous properties. Dr. Luton was assigned to the object, due to his background in non-euclidean physics and thermodynamics.
Dr. Luton was found dead in his office 2 days later by security staff. Autopsy revealed he died of severe dehydration and exhaustion.
Security camera's show Dr. Luton returning from lunch and sitting down at his desk, and remaining there for the next 43 hours, before collapsing.
Incident Report: SCP-XXXX-I2
Dr. Mackenzie, a senior researcher working with more junior researchers on SCP-XXXX for both training and research purposes, entered a catatonic state - remaining on his feat for 16 seconds before toppling over. He was quickly moved to the infirmary and put on basic life support.
Incident Report: SCP-XXXX-I3
Shortly after Dr. Mackenzie was admitted into the infirmary, one of the junior researchers he was training - Junior Researcher McMillan - also went into a catatonic state while examining Dr. Mackenzie's desk. When he collapsed, his head collided with the edge of the table, leading to a minor head wound.
Unlike Dr. Mackenzie, JR McMillan woke soon after the incident with no recollection of the past couple hours.
Note from Dr Griffiths: It appears that the item is a mild Cognito-Hazard, resources should be dedicated to researching this particular aspect, as ignorance concerning this aspect will prevent/hinder further research.

Research Procedures: Specialised Euclid
Report: It is important to address a slight inaccuracy in my previous report's conclusion. It is not memetically attacking those who attempt to understand it. If that was the case, the entire research team, myself included, would be comatose by now. The item effects specific members of the team for specific reasons. I have compiled a list of observations of those affected.
- All effected were working in the Item's containment chamber when effected.
- 80% of effected were Senior Researchers.
- 60% effected had an 'industrious work ethic' according to their personnel file.
- 75% had received 1 or more research commendations in the past.
There was one outlier however. Junior Researcher McMillan was skewing the data, as the most inexperienced researcher effected by the object. When reviewing CCTV, we discovered that Researcher McMillan was reviewing Dr Mackenzie's notes at the time of the incident.
We ran a few more tests, with inconsistent results. Only 10% of subjects became comatose, some even after the test concluded.
Conclusion: We can infer from testing that attacks from SCP-XXXX are not intelligent or planned. My hypothesis is in-depth knowledge of a specific aspect of SCP-XXXX's nature is info-hazardous. Inferring from the current data, the info-hazardous element of SCP-XXXX must not be immediately obvious, only appearing under scrutiny.
Containment Procedures Updated: 3/7/2017
Interviewed: Dr. Mackenzie
Interviewer: ████████
Foreword: Dr. Griffiths went AWOL on 9/9/2017 after a reclusive period, during which he had minimal interaction with foundation personnel. One of the few people he conversed with daily was Dr. Mackenzie.
<Begin Log>
Interviewer: Can you make a guess why you are here?
Dr. Mackenzie: Presumably something happened with █████?
Interviewer: No first names please. He went AWOL on Friday. No one's seen him since. According to his file, he possesses a "perfectionist work ethic" and a "great respect for authority". Not exactly the typical type we see running… Judging from your silence you either had no idea, or already knew of his AWOL status. Which is it?
Dr. Mackenzie: I didn't know he went AWOL. But it doesn't surprise me either.
Interviewer: Explain.
Dr. Mackenzie: -Sigh- Dr. Griffiths was very dedicated to the foundation. I'm sure you know from his report that he was one of our best researchers, wholeheartedly believing in the foundation mission statement. You know the gist.
Interviewer: Yes I have read his file.
Dr. Mackenzie: I'm sure that from a file-side perspective, his desertion makes no sense.
Interviewer: Indeed. But that's not my concern. Describe to me the nature of his reclusion over the past week.
Dr. Mackenzie: He stopped showing up to meals. We often ate together, but he sometimes skipped meals, so I didn't think much of his reclusion. I went to check on him on Wednesday, and found him in his office, engrossed in his notes. He seemed distracted while we spoke.
Interviewer: Do you know if he was working on anything other than SCP-XXXX at the time?
Dr. Mackenzie: I don't think he was, no.
Interviewer: Did he confide anything in you?
Dr. Mackenzie: Yes. He believed that SCP-XXXX posed an existential threat of unknown severity: anyone who discovered the nature of this threat would undergo a psychological 'break' and enter a catatonic state: reversible by a simple memory-wipe.
Interviewer: The discovery of this aspect by an accomplished researcher doesn't sound AWOL-worthy.
Dr. Mackenzie: Indeed. I unfortunately can't help you with that.
Interviewer: Thank you for your time Doctor.

Incident Report: SCP-XXXX-I4
A research related incident resulted in the Item's incendiary device being triggered. The Item was destroyed as a result.
A full investigation was carried out and the incident was put down to careless Special Containment Procedure design.
