Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX in uncontainable with the Foundation’s current resources. Depending on the circumstances, MTF Epsilon-6 ("Village Idiots") or MTF Pi-1 ("City Slickers") are to respond to instances someone not buying SCP-XXXX's story and enact Protocol-XXXX. See Addendum 1 for further details.
There is to be constant surveillance of the Hudson Valley region for sightings of SCP-XXXX via CCTV surveillance. Once SCP-XXXX is spotted and one of the family members doesn't believe it's story the corresponding Mobile Task Force is to be sent.
Any evidence of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be tracked and removed. If anyone has come into contact with evidence of SCP-XXXX-1 and does not forget about it then they are to be administered with Class-A amnestics.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a white middle-aged male with a large mustache donning a police uniform. SCP-XXXX reportedly drives around in a police issued Dodge Charger with a license plate of ████████. The only available descriptions of SCP-XXXX are from eyewitness accounts of those affected by it.
SCP-XXXX targets family residences where at least one family member is absent from the household. SCP-XXXX will introduce himself as Officer Frank and asks if they are related to the person currently outside of the residence. Once confirmation has been established SCP-XXXX will inform them that the person in question has unfortunately died in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. At around this point the person that has supposedly died in a drunk driving accident will vanish from existence and is presumed dead turn incorporeal and have very limited access to the corporeal world. These people will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 cannot be contacted and most forms of contact from SCP-XXXX-1 is forgotten or written off as some form of déjà vu. SCP-XXXX will proceed to answer any questions usually with a response along the lines of "I'm afraid we don't have enough information to answer that yet."
Once questions are finished SCP-XXXX will tell the family that if they have any more questions to come to the police station and excuse himself. At which point he will enter his police car and drive off and disappear at an indeterminate time.
The family and those who knew the victim tend to never ask any more questions and will proceed with their lives after holding a funeral for the deceased loved one despite not having an actual body.
Addendum 1:
Protocol-XXXX
After someone doesn't believe SCP-XXXX's story the corresponding MTF team is to be sent to their location. Knock on the door and ask to speak to speak with the family together. If asked for identification provide them with the fake police badge that will be provided.
Inform them that the police have further questions and would appreciate if they could give some time to come down to the station. If compliant proceed to take the family to ███████████ where they will be administered Class-C amnestics. Those who are non-compliant are to be restrained as if being arrested and brought to the same location to be administered Class-C amnestics.
Addendum 2:
A message was sent by a former researcher working for the SCP Foundation. This message was intercepted when Dr. ███████ was reading the article on SCP-XXXX and an intrusion by the former researcher was intercepted followed by this message.
This is Dr.$̤̠͕̞̰̫ͣ̌̀┴̸̡̦̘̺̈ͅͅè̵̻͍̝̓̏̈́̄̈́̂͡v̠̦̍ͪ̅ͪ̿̚Ǝ̵̷͖͗͂ͬ̊͑X̡̭̥̦̐̽̓͘s̄̾͒҉̪̫. I used to work for you people. It's not true. We aren't dead, we're all still here. You can't see us or hear us. Anything we do is ignored or forgotten. Do you ever find something in a place you know you didn't put it? That's us. We're stuck in this hell and I swear I feel like I'm getting weaker by the day. We can't leave. I don't know if you're even seeing but if you are then please help us.
He's coming for you next. If you're reading this then for the love of Gs̄̾͒҉̪̫
Unfortunately, counter-measures kicked in and the message could not be fully received. The message was forgotten by Dr. ███████ and was only found by the system during automated system check up later that day.
Addendum 3:
Interviewed: Mrs. Lawrence
Interviewer: Dr. █████
Foreword: Mrs. Lawrence, former wife of Mr. Lawrence aka SCP-XXXX-1, is the first documented case of an individual not believing the story presented by SCP-XXXX
<Begin Log>
Dr. █████: Good evening Mrs. Lawrence, how are you doing this evening?
Mrs. Lawrence: In tears How do you think I'm doing? I just found out my husband is gone for Christ's sake!
Dr. █████: I understand what you're going through Mrs. Lawrence bu-
Mrs. Lawrence: Cuts off Who are you people supposed to be anyways? I know everyone in my town and you sure as hell ain't any of the cops that live there.
Dr. █████: Mrs. Lawrence we're State Troopers looking to ask you some questions, that's all.
Mrs. Lawrence: The one that came to my house, Francis or something, he wasn't a state trooper, yet he came in saying my husband died. Who the hell was he?
Dr. █████: That was Officer Frank who came to your house, your husband died in another town so an officer fr-
Mrs. Lawrence: Don't lie to me! My husband works in town, he would have called if he were going somewhere else and he ain't the one to lie to me!
Dr. █████: Mrs. Lawrence, why didn't you believe Officer Frank?
Mrs. Lawrence: I never saw him before today and all the things you're telling me aren't making any sense. Oh God, what the hell happened to him? Why won't you people tell me what actually happened?
Dr. █████: We have been telling you Ma'am. Your husband died in a car crash. What seemed so off about Officer Frank to you?
Mrs. Lawrence: He was too nice. It was like he knew exactly what to say, like he'd done this so many times. It was unsettling and felt so rehearsed.
Dr. █████: Anything else that leads to you believe we might be lying to you.
Mrs. Lawrence: You're gonna think I'm crazy but I know he's still here. Whenever I come home from shopping I leave my coat on a chair and he'll place it on the coat hangar in our living room. Every day when I wake up my coat is right there on the hangar. I know for a fact I still place it on that chair, I know I did not place it on that hangar.
Dr. █████: I see. Well ma'am if you'd like to follow me we can grab something to drink in the kitchen, I can see you're getting emotional so perhaps some tea might calm your nerves.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Mrs. Lawrence was administered with Class-C amnestics after this audio log and brought back to her house with no memory of SCP-XXXX or the interview.
Addendum 4:
MTF Operatives were able to come into contact with SCP-XXXX. Operatives were close enough to the instance of SCP-XXXX to attempt a capture which succeeded. SCP-XXXX came into custody with no retaliation.
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr. █████
<Begin Log>
Dr. █████: Good morning! Officer Frank was it? I'm State Trooper Anderson.
SCP-XXXX: Why it's very nice to meet you, State Trooper. Might I ask what I'm doing here?
Dr. █████: Yes, I can understand the confusion. We're just a bit curious as you've had the unfortunate position of having to explain to a family that one of their members was found dead in a car crash but there's never been any bodies found. Can you explain what's going on with that?
SCP-XXXX: Yes, it truly is a hard job but I try my best to comfort the families during these terrible times. Unfortunately I can't answer your question as I'm never the first on scene and therefore don't write the report and I tend to not ask questions as I prefer to forget.
Dr. █████: About that, we haven't been able to find any police reports on the car crashes you've responded to at all. In fact we can't even find any records of you existing.
SCP-XXXX: Well that's cause I'm not actually a cop.
Dr. █████: I'm sorry, I think I mishe-
SCP-XXXX: Cuts off You don't have to play dumb with me sir. I see what's going on here. Now, what questions do you really want to ask me?
Dr. █████: Oh…umm…flips through pages Alright, why are you doing this?
SCP-XXXX: I'm hungry and you people are quite delicious but only if prepared a certain way. It's a very delicate process.
Dr. █████: You mean you eat the people that you turn incorporeal?
SCP-XXXX: Not what you would would call eating but yes something like that.
Dr. █████: If you're just trying to eat then why go through the process of telling their families they've died in a car wreck?
SCP-XXXX: Less questions. A type of camouflage for what's truly happening. You people are so malleable, it's honestly quite funny.
Dr. █████: Is this part of your "delicate process?"
SCP-XXXX: Yes, the despair from the families is like the seasoning to the confusion,fear, and sometimes anger of those I've captured. God, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it!
Dr. █████: Right… How do you turn these people incorporeal?
SCP-XXXX: I'd love to tell you Dr. █████ but it brings me grief that I have to be the one to inform you that your wife was found dead at a car accident.
Dr. █████: Wha- Oh fuck! Fuck you! Gets up from chair ██████, please be alright! Storms outside the interview room with phone in hand.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: After Dr. █████ stormed outside the room SCP-XXXX disappeared from the interview room. Cameras show him slowly turning translucent and eventually completely invisible. Dr. █████'s wife was confirmed to have gone missing after the interview.
