Special Containment Procedures:

Description:

SCP-7XXX designates a cluster of individuals, approximately 40 in total, roaming the Sahara Desert. Each SCP-7XXX specimen (separately referred to as SCP-7XXX-1 through -40) possesses an anomalous inability to be observed or sensed1 by standard biotic organisms. Identification records/documents of SCP-7XXX instances are yet to be discovered by Foundation personnel.

SCP-7XXX collectively follows a theistic religion labeled "Mesothism." Mesothism, as stated by several SCP-7XXX instances, is predicated on the belief that discovering the residue of a divine entity will grant the explorer(s) eternal power that the deceased deity once possessed.

Followers of Mesothism (deemed Mesothists) not incorporated into SCP-7XXX are capable of viewing and/or taking visible photos of it, and conducting audible logs between instances. Evidence of SCP-7XXX, when produced by Mesothists, plainly displays SCP-7XXX's physical characteristics or other forms of human features, even to non-Mesothists.

SCP-7XXX is theorized to have been wandering North Africa for approximately 3-4 centuries. The Foundation discovered SCP-XXXX in 1988 when MTF Task Force Guard-14 ("Saharan Summertime Sunset") was locating an unrelated anomaly in the Saharan Desert. During the tracking process, G-14 personnel reported observing an immense group of camels bearing halters and leashes. However, controllers of the animals were not present. Instead, the camels were observed to walk in unison with no visible holders with an unknown force restraining them. Following this, SCP-7XXX was designated a monitored regularly

SCP-7XXX was originally considered to be a wholly imperceptible anomaly through all senses. However, while conducting a weekly inspection assessment in 1990, Senior Researcher Wallace Brunson2 reported successfully recognizing SCP-7XXX's physical attributes from a distance.
