Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be shut off and unmodified when not under testing, entering the lighthouse is allowed, but subjects must be supervised and closely monitored while inside. It's location on the West Coast of the United States makes it hard to keep hidden or away from the public. Keeping SCP-XXXX shut off at ALL TIMES is crucial as to keep nearby waters safe. D-Class testing is to be preformed with a vessel no larger than 550 feet in length, and 100 feet in height, no more than 50 D-Class personnel are to be aboard this vessel during testing, the area within 50 miles of SCP-XXXX will be evacuated, and covering will be placed near the sections facing inland. SCP-XXXX will be activated, and the beam of light will come in contact with the vessel, sending w wave through it, causing the immediate heart attack and death of everyone aboard, 2 survivors have ever been recorded, but we do not expect further survivors in later tests, as the survivors were specially placed in 6-layered cubes in the cargo holds of the vessels, this is the only known way to survive an encounter with SCP-XXXX, tests with less thick cubes will be taken to find the lowest thickness possible.
Personnel with a Level 3+ Clearance may enter SCP-XXXX, Level 4+ may conduct testing with SCP-XXXX. All personnel on site with SCP-XXXX are to be kept in quarters next to SCP-XXXX during their stay, and may not leave site-boundaries in their time there. Decisions involving opening up the surrounding 5 miles from SCP-XXXX to the Public should be ran through O5 Command, NEEDING approval to be granted, if this is done without approval, everyone involved will be terminated. Civilian casualties somehow caused by SCP-XXXX are to be taken care of by personnel with a Level 5+ Clearance, and should be done with quickly.
SCP-XXXX is made out of Brick, Concrete, Wood, and Glass. The exterior of SCP-XXXX is not to be modified unless request is approved by O5 Command. Tampering with the light on top of SCP-XXXX will result in severe punishment, or going along with the D-Class on SCP-XXXX's next experiments. SCP-XXXX is to have no aspects of it modified within it's walls. No civilian is to come within 5 miles of SCP-XXXX, any civilians who manage to get this close, will be sent to Site-15 in the D-Class holding cells for further questioning.
Personnel caught breaking any of these rules will be punished severely.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 250-foot tall lighthouse located near Site-15, built in ██████ as a way for nearby vessels to safely get by the coast, it was a well placed lighthouse, and kept lots of ships in the area safe…until it didn't. Over the years ships would slowly start to go missing near the lighthouse, from small rowboats to large cargo ships, they'd go, and never be seen again. The Foundation has found why they were abandoned, but not where the actual ships went, this remains a mystery. The exact location of SCP-XXXX is in the State of ██████████, near █.█.
While SCP-XXXX has been through multiple tests and experiments, the actual cause of it's fatal effect when in contact with ships is still unknown. The Foundation has tried through the surrounding area and the lighthouse itself, to find it's source, but cannot. The lighthouse worked perfectly fine, and did not cause any trouble until years after it's construction, meaning it's cause must have came after it entered service in ████. Further details involving the cause of SCP-XXXX's effects are unavailable.
SCP-XXXX was discovered after numerous vessels went missing along the coast of ██████████, Mobile Task Force ████████-█ were dispatched and discovered the lighthouse, initially ignoring it and setting up camp near it. After more ships went into view of the lighthouse and suddenly went radio silent, uncontrolled, and rammed into shore, it was determined that the lighthouse was the cause, which was confirmed by testing with D-Class personnel. SCP-XXXX remains in it's initial location and has yet to show any changes in behavior during testing.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX is a danger to the well being of the land and waters around it, showing disregard for the protocols and procedures shown involving SCP-XXXX could result in disastrous consequences, including Civilian and Personnel casualties. While not yet official, it is an on-site rule going around that the light itself causes SCP-XXXX's affects with or without a structure, so please listen to the procedures.
Not telling new arrivals that the beam of light emitted by SCP-XXXX gives you immortality will soon be added to the Special Containment Procedures, due to a few unexpected accident that involved having to replace over 15 personnel working on site. Please don't do this for god's sake.
This is an interview carried out by Dr. ██████
Interviewed: D-2426
Interviewer: Dr. ██████
Foreword: This interview was carried out by Dr. ██████ with D-2426, one of the 2 D-Class to be in the 6-layered cubes during a test involving SCP-XXXX. This was carried out 4 hours after the test, the interview went as follows:
<Begin Log>
Dr. ██████: So you are D-2426, Correct?
D-2426: That's me.
Dr. ██████: Lets get this started then, first question. What happened when the beam first hit the ship?
D-2426: Well, I can't say exactly when I got affected by it, but I wanna say it was when I felt a sharp pain in my arm and neck.
Dr. ██████: Writing down D-2426's words in his notebook Did you hear anything outside of your cube?
D-2426: I couldn't hear anything through the cube, but I did feel a few slight vibrations as I felt the sharp pains, I assumed it was people falling down. I guess I assumed correctly.
Dr. ██████: Indeed. Did you feel any of the ship's functions like engines, lights, power, etc cutting out?
D-2426: It was hard to tell, but I thought I felt the ship suddenly go quite, as if the engines just shut down completely, not entirely sure tho.
Dr. ██████: Writing something then closing his notebook Alright then. That will be all for now, you may go.
D-2426 is observed exiting the interview room, and the interview concludes.
<End Log>Closing Statement: We did not gain much information on SCP-XXXX, but we can determine that the effects from it cause electricity to malfunction or halt altogether. Steam powered machines may also be affected by SCP-XXXX's rays.
