And so Aska decreed, with His mighty hand
that Veskel be stripped of power.
And with a movement of His head
the Fallen Angel fell to Earth.- Veskel, Chapter IV

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a sealed 5x5x5 m steel cube, specially modified for the purpose of document retrieval and interviews held with SCP-XXXX. The steel cube must be suspended in an underground chamber located at least 10 km below the surface of the Earth and under Site-02, where its existence will only be known to certain personnel who are authorised to visit SCP-XXXX. Researchers assigned to SCP-XXXX are to keep a close eye on it for any 'spikes' and are to report any developments to Dr. Harold Harrison Dr. George Keene, the supervisor of SCP-XXXX.
Due to SCP-XXXX's cognitohazardous properties, all personnel handling instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are not to memorise its details and keep it in their memory for more than 24 hours. All personnel who have read or listened to an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be administered with Class-A Amnestics within 24 hours to prevent the manifestation of any effects. In addition, all interviews held with SCP-XXXX are to be carried out in the presence of a V-8 Voice Distorter to prevent the verbal manifestation of SCP-XXXX's effects.
Due to SCP-XXXX's unique nature, its containment will not be permanent. Regarding the issue of its release, the Foundation has placed its release date on the 15th of February, 1978 the 23rd of June, 1985 the 1st of March, 2009 an undetermined date.
Special Containment Procedures Update: Following SCP-XXXX's involvement in the Harrison Incident (Refer to Addendum XXXX-3), the Foundation has now viewed it as a dangerous threat and has made its containment permanent.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1.8 m tall winged humanoid entity referred to in Askian mythology as 'Veskel' or the 'Fallen Angel'.
Even though SCP-XXXX is classified as an angelic entity by Askian scripture, it is rarely able to use the abilities it is said to possess. Instead, its powers will manifest in the form of 'spikes', allowing it to use a variety of abilities in a short period of time, usually between 1 to 2 hours. These abilities include flight, invincibility and the ability to erase people's existence from reality.
SCP-XXXX's primary anomalous ability manifests in any of its writings or in any recordings of its real voice, classified as instances of SCP-XXXX-1. Should an individual memorise an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 and keep the memory in their brain for more than 24 hours, they will begin to become obsessed with SCP-XXXX and its teachings and become devoted to its beliefs, eventually escalating to them actively worshipping it and respecting it until they unusually disappear a few days after the start of the process. There are currently no solutions available to reverse the process.
Addendum XXXX-1: Documents addressing or referring to SCP-XXXX
Document 1: An extract from 'The Askian Compendium', written by an anonymous author
Of all the angels that served Aska
there was one who fell to Earth.
The middle one whose name was Veskel
committed an intolerable sin.- Veskel, Chapter I
Document 2: An extract from 'A comprehensive look into Askian Mythology: Gods and Other Beings' by Dr. Erik Thresher
Veskel - the middle child of Aska, and the angel commonly used to represent evil and hatred in Askian Mythology. There have been a number of theories regarding Veskel's sin, but there seems to be a general consensus that Veskel had indeed sinned, and was the only one to do so.
So then, what was the sin that Veskel was accused of?
Document 3: An extract from 'The Askian Compendium', written by an anonymous author
Veskel said to Aska
'I have done no wrong.'
And Aska said
'You have betrayed me.'- Veskel, Chapter XII
Addendum XXXX-2: Additional Documentation
Document 1: Written on the 23rd of September, 1977
Ibi erat coram tenebris lucem.
The Earth was not the same as it was when I came down.
The beings who imprisoned me did not exist then.
I was all alone then. I am still alone now.
The barrier separates me from them, so I cannot see who they are.
I will only trust in my instincts, and follow what they say.
If they keep their promise.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr. Harold Harrison
Date: 5th December 1977
<Begin Log, 0932 hours>
HH: Good morning, SCP-XXXX.
XXXX: I was not aware that it was morning. How long has it been, doctor?
HH: 2 months since the last interview. There were some…complications with the recording of the last interview.
XXXX: What kind of complications?
HH: Complications involving you. Apparently, some of us have been attracted to your beliefs ever since they listened to your interview.
XXXX: How nice. Tell them I said hi.
HH: Unfortunately, I can't. The people attracted to your beliefs have since vanished. Do you know anything about it?
XXXX: No, I do not.
HH: I thought so. Now, we shall move on to the topic at hand. Since you've been mentioned several times in Askian mythology, I was curious as to whether the stories involving you are true. So, I ask you, did you betray Aska?
XXXX: That [EXPLETIVE NOT RECOGNISED] overreacted. I was just doing my job, and that [EXPLETIVE NOT RECOGNISED] thought I was staging a revolution against him. Honestly, he doesn't understand anything.
HH: I'll take that as a yes then. Anything else you would like to mention?
XXXX: No. My deepest apologies for the language I used.
HH: It's alright. If there's anything else you would like to mention, please feel free to sound them off to me.
XXXX: When can I be let out? I miss being outside.
HH: Be patient. I have discussed with the others, and we have decided to release you next year. Is that alright for you?
XXXX: Perfectly.
HH: Right then. Goodbye, SCP-XXXX.
XXXX: Goodbye, doctor.

HH: Good morning, SCP-XXXX.
XXXX: (Silence)
HH: I know what you are going to say. Unfortunately, your release has been delayed.
XXXX: (Silence)
HH: I don't know the reason why, but I'm truly sorry about it.
XXXX: I know why. They fear me. They believe I am what the scriptures describe me as.
HH: What was I to do? I could not go against them.
XXXX: Appeal to them. I do not mean any being any harm. I just want to be left alone.
HH: I'll try to reason with them.
XXXX: By all means, do so. I cannot stand being in here alone.
HH: I promise you, you will soon be released.
XXXX: And will you break your promise to me?
HH: No, I hope not. That depends on them.
XXXX: They do not matter. Since you're the only being talking to me, I'll take every broken promise as being your fault, not theirs. You will be accountable for everything they do.
HH: I see. Goodbye, SCP-XXXX.
XXXX: Goodbye, doctor.

Solum mendax credit suum mendacium.
Doctor Harrison will burn in the fires of the underworld.
He believes that he will not break his promise.
He keeps believing that I will be released soon.
I do not have any faith in his words.
He is a liar.
I will trust him once more.
If he breaks his promise, I will not forgive him.

DR. HARRISON INCIDENT
Personnel Involved: Dr. Harold Harrison
Incident Location: Site-02
Incident Date: 4 April 2009
Incident Summary:
During one of SCP-XXXX's 'spikes', Dr. Harrison was seen walking down the Site-02 hallway in an unconscious state.
Harrison proceeded to gouge out his eyeballs with his hands, pull out his tongue, and repeatedly smash his head on the wall of the hallway. Attempts to stop him were unsuccessful.
Harrison's actions concluded one minute later. He was pronounced dead upon the conclusion of his actions.
